Why the fuss, you couldn't have a Christmas/Religious stall at a market in Saudi Arabia!

The Muslim stall does not bother me - I would not go to it anymore than I would go that anti abortion kiosk that was at last years Christmas market
Was it a Christian festival, dunnital? I thought it was Christmas market. I am going to the Christmas markets this weekend and am expecting many stalls with plenty of German lager, gluvine, hot food and sweets as well as crafts and gift stalls. I am expecting some Christmas music but Slade etc not carols, and no prayers or Christian stalls but if there are some I would just walk past them onto the next hog roast or lager stall.
F-f ....who knows? Seems it was Christian from what has gone on...however I don't think Islamic religion have owt to do with Christmas so why would they set up there anymore than Christians, Jews etc at Islamic events? Have to say...stirring is a great way of promoting things...Ermm...maybe not! Anyway, just commenting on things how I view them...soddin religion is a curse in all its values IMO. All humans need is common sense ....then life would be..well...liveable ....sigh.
fiction-factory, you're not expecting to learn about Islam at those Christmas Markets then?
I'm not expecting any religious/political stalls there- but I would walk past them without a second glance if they were approved stall. If they were pestering people or there without permission I might report them to the organisers though but wouldn't even consider telling them they are not welcome
It was/is a Christmas Market of Nations - Cloudberry jam, Elk furs etc.

As well as yucky mulled wine and sausages.
Which nation does Islam belong to?

It doesn't Naomi.
Naomi - //andy-hughes, //What about a little religious tolerance, such as Jesus preached //

You've been listening to too many priests. Jesus wasn't keen on foreigners. //

There you go with your assumptions again.

I don't listen to anyone who claims to ‘know’ how religions work – and that actually includes priests.

If I start listening to priests (and I only hear the voice of one) I promise you’ll be the first to know.
Not at all divebuddy but thanks for the interest in what I said. You missed out the word IF from your partial quote by the way.

Mamya: It doesn't Naomi.

Would be Impossible to have Naomi, No place for Stone-age Barbarism anymore!

In that case I MUST be right in assuming that when you said “What about a little religious tolerance, such as Jesus preached”, you were making it up.
Mamyalynne at 19:48, quite right. Therefore Islam had no place in a 'Christmas Market of Nations' either.
If a religious stipulation was in place for stallholders then yes.
Mamyalynne, not with you. You're talking about a Market of Nations - Islam isn't a nation. This is however, a Christmas market. Islam doesn't 'do' Christmas.
I called it the Christmas Market of Nations because that is what it is, we don't seem to have enough information on why this stall was allowed then caused so much trouble.

I know Islam is not a nation, sorry if you thought that is what I meant.
I think what Naomi is saying is that, if the market was a Market of nations, and Islam isn't a nation, they, by default, had no right to be there.
Oh I see, right.
