unless anyone posting here lives or lived in the USA, they are unlikely to have experienced this. but there was a bus boycott in Bristol, in 1963. it lasted 4 months and forced the state owned bus company to back down. at the time Bristol's non-white population numbered around 3000 and on their own would not have obtained the result they ended up with. there will therefore be white bristolians who can claim they fought for the right of non whites to drive Bristol's buses.
btw, the boycott was brought about by an employment colour bar, which was in place largely by the action of the local branch of the TGWU, who threatened that every bus in Bristol would stop if a black driver dared step on a Bristol bus.

/// The protest also included relatives of several African-American people killed in police shootings, Hispanic group La Raza, Planned Parenthood and LGBT group the Human Rights Campaign. ///
Was Trump responsible for those police killings?
If I remember right, Obama was in power during most of them, I noticed that those relatives never protested against their black president then.
He had eight years to tighten up on America's gun problems, but did nothing.

Actually - the reason that Ms Holliday gave for pulling out is because she had not realised that performing would be (correctly) seen as a political act. She has an absolutely huge following amongst gay people, and performing for Trump/Pence has been perceived very negatively amongst the LBGT community.
Remember...Pence is a supporter of 'conversion therapy', supports businesses being able to discriminate against gay people supports , proposes a cut in HIV prevention funding, opposes marriage equality and voted against the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act (which means that straight people are free to beat up and/or kill gay people (specifically because they are gay) in his home state of Indiana without it being recorded as a hate crime.
Ms Holliday's response was:
My only choice must now be to stand with the LGBT community. I sincerely apologise for my lapse of judgement, for being uneducated on the issues that affect every American at this crucial time in history and for causing such dismay and heartbreak to my fans.
With this in mind, it seems reasonable for Jennifer Holliday's gay fans to be appalled at her appearing at the inaugaration.
But the use of the phrase 'Uncle Tom' is reductive and disgusting. Probably used by someone without the education to put the facts before her.

/// Really when where? ///
Don't be silly, how can I produce proof of somethings that have happened in my lifetime.
I cannot show you a video of me on a bus, or drinking from a fountain or even of a rent book in my name.
/// You have asked me to produce evidence in the past - I am now asking for the same! ///
The evidences I may have asked you to produce in the past, would have been more easily available, if they did even exist.

Was Trump responsible for those police killings?
If none of the protesters claimed that he was, then the question is moot.
La Raza is a Latina nonprofit advocacy organisation. Their inclusion in the march is pretty self-explanatory.
Planned Parenthood marched because Trump has vowed to defund (not defend) the programme, and the LBGT groups were there because of the points I raised regarding the VP, and the voting history of the cabinet members he's thus far appointed.

Oh no, nothing on this earth can compare to the experiences of some others.
Black people are not the only people who have been persecuted, condemned into slavery, or have been classed as second rate citizens.

Nope. I agree with you - that's impossible.
However, I'd be curious to know the circumstances.
And even more curious to hear how your fight manifested itself.
I think some of us need to know the circumstances where your race presented you with difficulty in drinking from a water fountain - because as far as I can recall, we've never had that level of segregation in the UK.
It's possible you initially wrote that as an off-the-cuff remark, which you now want to walk away from. If so, just say and we promise not to refer to it again.*
(*Has fingers crossed behind back).

We seem to be straying off course from the OP, as per.

He answers Yes, blacks and whites are equal in the US. In which case his ignorance is proved.
Which is it AOG?
