I was honestly just thinking that I wanted my voice to be a healing and unifying force for hope through music to help our deeply polarized country… Regretfully, I did not take into consideration that my performing for the concert would actually instead be taken as a political act against my own personal beliefs and be mistaken for support of Donald Trump and Mike Pence.
She wanted to heal and unify but she was told ... no
And she capitulated

Not me - I just cut and pasted from an article about it.
Also, do you really think that belting out a song would heal and unify the nation?
Really?
She may have had the best of intentions, but a large number of her supporters would have felt the same sense of betrayal that Donna Summer fans felt about *that* AIDS thing.
It's a bit like Tinie Tempah turning up to a BNP rally to heal the 'rifts between communities'.

More Pence than Trump.
And according to her statement (printed in full from -Talbot-), she knew that that there were serious issues, but she wouldn't have know how much this upset her fans until her engagement was announced, surely?
I think the best thing now would be for the new administration to eschew all celebrity performers. Either that, or go for artists like Toby Keith, Kid Rock and Jessica Simpson.
The only worry is that these artists might be at home, polishing their bargepoles as we speak...

Corby, There are lots of links showing the disproportionate crime rates amongst blacks. Would that help.
Do those links also make any connection between crime rates and levels of poverty and educational opportunities?
For instance, do they examine the crime rates amongst the emerging affluent African Americans, or are the figures based solely on race?

What The Funicular have you had on your cornflakes this morning?
Why do you get the impression I believe belting out a song would heal and unify?

/// no-one asked for proof that ANOTHEOLDGIT had drunk from a water fountain. He said he had had to FIGHT for the right to do so. Such a struggle should not be lacking in details and should be recalled easily, surely? ///
Read what it actually says:
"Fight for the right to sit where he wanted to on a bus"
or
"Drink from a water fountain"
or
"Rent a house".
// So speaks a man who has never had to fight for the right to sit where he wanted to on a bus, or drink from a water fountain, or rent a
house. ///
And proof or evidence was asked for by Islay.
/// You have asked me to produce evidence in the past - I am now asking for the same! ///

'In 2002, blacks constituted more than 80% of the people sentenced under the federal crack cocaine laws and served substantially more time in prison for drug offenses than did whites, despite that fact that more than 2/3 of crack cocaine users in the U.S. are white or Hispanic'

[i]White trash crime rates are not particularly out of line with "ordinary" white crime rates. So the link between poverty/poor education is a bit of a myth.[i]
The FBI disagrees with you:
