I've seen that a lot in the replies and posts on here since Monday night. One man on the radio this morning, a former senior member of COBRA, said the answer is to deport all those with known connections to terrorism. Even if there isn't enough evidence to bring them to trial. If their activities have brought them to the attention of the security forces, they should be deported without any questions being asked. Summary dismissal!

It does seem many of the killers were known to the authorities so there may be a case for not giving so many the benefit of any doubt. Deportation may work in some cases but I'm not sure where those born here would be deported to
I would continue as we are, trusting the intelligence services to nip as much as they can in the bud. It's the only reasonable option. I'd also consider revising laws on who we let in, and hope home grown nut jobs are being sufficiently monitored.
I think I preferred it when you were obsessed with Alan Hansen....

It would be nice to think that all of those suspected of terrorism or links to same could be deported quick smart. But I suspect that it is not as simple as just saying that's what we are going to do.

Without prejudice - you can't deport people who were born here.

Deport these people to where exactly ? What are we to do with the people that are born here ?

To the colonies of course. That's why we had them.
If they were born here, internment, as the Americans did to the Japanese in WW2.

As said many of those with 'terrorist connections' are UK citizens so it's impossible to deport them.
Once again I assume you mean only Muslims should be deported?
Quite a dilemma what to do with the children of a couple who fled Libya to escape the tyrannical Gaddafi.
This couple were given refuge by the UK ... To think that those children would grow up to thank the UK by killing our own children.

I used to think that immigration needed to be controlled because of numbers ... I now think the background of any potential new resident to these shores should be taken into consideration.

Rather sad that I now think like that but the actions by some of the offspring of some immigrants have forced me to have a change of heart.

One thing I would bring in immediately is that if you leave these shores to fight for any of the terrorist groups you will not be let back in.

I didn't think many would offer any honest opinions on this thread and I was right ... just carry on regardless eh?
At this point now, I think that anyone on the 'watch' list should be dealt with more harshly, not just 'glanced' at. Maybe they should be interred or tagged, I don't know, but, I'm sick to death of hearing that they were know to the security service. I know finance dictates how they are watched, but maybe now is the time that they are rounded up and kept together so that they can do no harm.

I never, ever, thought I'd here myself saying that, but there ya go.
^ The problem with interring people on watch lists leads to Guantanamo Bay UK and I`m not sure that would work.
Well, we don't have to waterboard them. Just keep them away from doing harm.
