Islay seems to think that you cannot be a hero if you are in a job where you know the risks, which would preclude any member of the armed forces from receiving a medal for bravery.

Islay, Pretty much unarmed he put his own life in peril in his attempts to save others. Why don’t you think that’s heroic? I don’t understand your reasoning.
naomi just as I don't understand yours at times.
We are allowed to think differently!
well he has my vote !
Well murray I am sure that will make him feel a lot better!!

I am sure he does feel better knowing how much he is valued !
..and under these conditions it would not surprise me if he did get the George Cross....much deserved
Islay at 08.23. Of course we're allowed to think differently, but in this instance I've explained why I think as I do. You haven't.
I have explained naomi look at my previous responses- he was doing his job!
Danny most of my male relatives have servied in the forces and some during times of War, please don't try and play that card.
Please also note before this gets thrown in my face I am not anti British or anti Police etc but I am anti fawning!

Islay.....You are entitled to your view on this matter, but I think you are seriously out of tune with the vast majority on here.

Read what danny has to say at 08:25....he makes very good sense, and I have given him BA accordingly.
Not for the first time Mikey but you know what ? Bovvered?
there is a world of difference between unwarranted fawning and respectful admiration and gratitude
Question Author
Islay....the use of the word "fawning" is disgraceful.
murray and mikey again you are entitled to your opinions and I am entitled to mine!
my post at 8.35 was fact ..not opinion

Steady Chaps, we must remember that very little is good enough for some folks.
Islay, personally I think what he did went above and beyond the call of duty and that credit should be given where it’s due. In those circumstances a lesser man would have hopped it pretty smartish!
I think that we must also take into consideration thee fact that, if he had notified his superiors what was happening, he would have been told to wait for an armed response team.
again murray that is your opinion that it is 'fact' - I tend to disagree with you!
Islay, would you agree it's light outside?
