So let's get this right. Council "tenants" were subletting council properties. To Whom? Illegal immigrants? Were these same tenants also renting another council property whilst subletting? If they were in a home they owned, how come they were able to obtain a tenancy, and if they purchased afterwards how come they don't show on council tax records. Ever...

when a neighbour died at home - the police waited outside for the body to be taken ( dr wouldnt do a death cert) - and I said - do you think someone will come with a body in a deep freeze and substitute ? [ but then there was a fol-de-rol about finding morphine and codeine in his body but that as they say is another story ]
and he said yes. and I said I dont understand that - all you have done is change the body in the deep freeze.....
(my own view is that the civil servants have papers to push)

it came to light quite recently that a 2 bedroomed flat in Kensington..not a tower block.. was being sub let for more than 500% of the council rent..and, to add insult to injury , by a woman who had since gone on to buy a home elsewhere in London....that was on that BBC 1 prog about housing inspectors...
