Perhaps in those countries that are not so acceptive to homosexuality, but surely there is now no longer need here?

“…wander to somewhere along the route of the march. You'll both be very welcome and have an excellent time. :o)” Two or three years ago I was unfortunate enough to be “somewhere along the route of the march”, not wandering but trying to go about my business. I’m not sure whether or not I was welcome (I would like to hope I was not). This was because my...

It is your fact and you use those words to describe people dressed for a carnival, party occasion. I may use similar words if my bank manager greeted me dressed in that manner.

Spot the difference?

We each have different perceptions.
"A fortnight ago I and many others had their day and evening spoilt by a similar so-called Gay Pride event in Zürich,..."

Careful, Khandro, careful! I mentioned something along those lines once and I didn't get away with it!
Yep, you're right AOG, Donald Trump doesn't suit pink.
Ludwig...love your contribution at 12.31....... :-))...x

This one looks fun, Khandro......August 12th if you want to avoid... :-)
AOG, Khandro, and NJ, I am with the three of you on this one. Also all who are opposed to the LGBT movement and have contributed to this thread.

Hans.
I'm so pleased my 84 yr old FIL is more open minded and tolerant than some on here and enjoys the friendship of his gay retired clergyman friend.
Eccles, my FIL is 83 and sounds a lot like yours.
Apart from he doesn't have an ex-clergy gay friend (yet)
My grand parents were very open minded too.
Have you got stuck in a revolving door, NJ?
You keep popping in to say "Goodbye".....only to come back later.

I wonder if the fact that most of the vociferous opponents are 'Gentlemen of a certain age' is relevant?

Doubt if the age is relevant, Jack, maybe a reflection of their up-bringing?
It's a combination of factors that form our views, I always try to imagine how my parents would respond to something if they were still here.

My informed guess on what I grew up with is...

Mum (87) 'Very nice dear but you think they'd stay at home'.

Dad (93) 'When are we going Lynne?'.
I appeciate that there are oodles of older 'gentlemen' who are agin 'this sort of thing...' (I have met an awful lot of them). Conversely, I have met very many who are completely accepting and non-judgemental and have lived long enough to work out that we are all *a long time dead* and that concerning yourself with what others believe and get up todoesn little to enrich your own life.
Jack....NJ was wrong in the words he used and he knows it...I'll bet he now wishes he had voiced his opinion with manners.....

He is now wriggling around his original post to make it seem not as bad and rude as it was........the weird and creepy steam locomotive enthusiast comment was pretty desperate.............did tickle me though..... :-)
Islay made reference to this earlier but I know how much you like your links, AOG and so much the better if they are from the Daily Mail....

This is one reason why the fight for Equality needs to continue, and if events like the Pride marches raises the public consciousness.....well, so much the better.

A good and welcome decision.
All supporters of LGBT are in effect saying that there is nothing wrong with Sexual Deviations. Yet often the same people, quite rightly, will look upon with disgust such practices as Bestiality and Paedophilia.

Hans.

Hans - they are illegal!!!
Hans , you've nipped down a cul de sac there for sure.
That I should hardly a balanced comparison Hans.

And you know it!
