I don't see it as much more than existence - one thing that is upsetting many is the lack of information.
Assigned key workers asking the residents if they have any up to date news rather than the other way round.

Even those who were working may not have been able to pay contents insurance.
Some who have been offered alternative accommodation may have turned it down for a variety of reasons. The media will only report whatever their agenda is
I doubt that those staying in hotels feel like they are 'free' citizens of this country.

I don't know about luxury, but perhaps it is compared to living in an unsafe tower block with kids.
But my main point is, why have they turned down other accommodation when it has been offered?

ANOTHEOLDGIT, no doubt you have spent many a relaxing day or night in a hotel but I suspect that is through choice and you were on holiday or on a night out.
Compare that to folk whose flats have been destroyed. Compare that to folk whose loved ones have been killed by fire or smoke. Compare that to folk who know their loved ones jumped to their deaths.
Still think they enjoy their time in a hotel?

I've said before and will repeat myself, the person who turned down the offer of a ground floor flat - it was reported that it was turned down because 'he' could hear traffic noise'
He/they may have at some point been living in a ground floor flat and were burgled and so they don't want to go to a ground floor flat again.
Isn't compassion a wonderful, short-term feeling?

Have they been sacked from their jobs, had their benefits stopped or even might have lost all their cash in the fire?
