I imagine those that do work will potentially be on long term sick leave as a result. The PTSD in such circumstances will be awful. I cant imagine being involved in something like that and watching neighbours or family members burn or jump to their deaths. The psychological effects will be felt for years to come.

/// He/they may have at some point been living in a ground floor flat and were burgled and so they don't want to go to a ground floor flat again. ///

Your first paragraph was fact but your second one was sheer speculation, if they had indeed been burgled in a ground floor flat, don't you think that they would have said so, when they turned down the offer of a ground floor flat?

I know it's nothing to do with Grenfell, but I've heard of people no longer able to cope with what they saw on 9/11
Beggars belief people hearing the screams and worse.
Am so sorry for all of them.
might not have been reported AOG, we all know the media like to put a spin on things.

Where have I showed lack of compassion?

See my 14.42 post.

My interjection into this thread has been about why some have turned down offers of new accommodation, a fair enough point to make surely, without the need for you to accuse me of showing a lack of compassion.
It was you, AOG, who mentioned 4 meals a day and a minibar....!
ummmm

/// I said 'seems' so stop twisting my meaning! ///

No what you did say was "it seems like AOG is comparing it to a holiday".

Don't you read what you actually put, in your haste to get your AOG's digs in?

This is also what you put, and which I was addressing:

/// many of these people have very little funds to be able to leave their rooms. ///

You also later put:

/// If some of these people are on income support what are they suppose to do all day? ///

There are many people on income support, and they find plenty to do.

Usual daft responses to this thread, by the usual suspect(s) I see.

By the way, I hope the previous Leader of the Council, Robert Black, will be giving his full attention to this Enquiry....after all, despite resigning in disgrace in June, he is still being paid his full salary by the Council.
ANOTHEOLDGIT, why do you think folk may have turnt down alternative accommodation?
ummmm

/// It was you, AOG, who mentioned 4 meals a day and a minibar....! ///

That I openly agree but it was in answer to another post regarding the safety of the children living in an hotel.

So you see that puts a complete different meaning to my words when they are not taken out of context.

My Mini Bar remark was also a humorous off the cuff remark answering a poster who was laying down the hotel catering advantages.

At least they will be assured four good meals a day, nicely set out for them in the dinning room. ///
It 'seems' means the way you word things makes it look that way.

Other people on income support might find plenty of things to do all day but they used to have the luxury of having a flat...not stuck in a room. Oh...and the luxury of having clothes.
to alba // Your first paragraph was fact but your second one was sheer speculation, //

and you know how AOG abhors speculation
so long as it isnt himself who is speculating

[[ ummmm /// They probably do have a priority list, Albs. Hotels are not so suitable for kids. ///
At least they will be assured four good meals a day, nicely set out for them in the dinning room. ]]

AOG....your understanding of the situation is breathtakingly ignorant.

AOG you are a master jokester who has the misfortune to be taken far too seriously far too often

Yes they get on your nerves mikey, it seems that they just cannot help themselves as soon as the letters AOG appear.

Maybe we should call it a 'Fatal Attraction?
^ LOL ..
Question Author
Can anyone think of a good reason why Black should still be drawing his salary, after resigning in disgrace ?
Mikey, //the previous Leader of the Council, Robert Black//

Robert Black wasn’t a former leader of the Council. He was the chief executive of the company that managed the Grenfell Tower. The former leader of the Council who resigned was Nick Paget-Brown.

Mikey to aog // AOG....your understanding of the situation is breathtakingly ignorant.//

Hmmm…..
Question Author
Nitpicking again !

Why is he still being paid his salary, if he had to resign in disgrace .....that is the important question.
Hardly nit-picking, Mikey.

According to this…..

…..he is still being paid because he is continuing to help KCTMO (the management company) to respond to multiple inquiries linked to the fire, including the public enquiry and the police investigations.
