Arresting knife-wielding thugs would be a good idea (even if it is 'only' other knifewielding thugs they are killing) but that doesn't mean that the Police should work on an 'instead of...' basis.; I much prefer an 'aswell as...'.

Look AOG, these people are members of a prohibited group. The group is prohibited because they think it's all fine and dandy to be actively inciting racial, religious and sexual hatred. They stir up violence within the community and espouse Nazi ideologies. Being a member of that group is illegal and yet they choose to be members. You are suggesting they might not have done anything wrong. Would you feel the same way if someone was a member of the IRA or Isis and had not yet planted a bomb or killed anyone? I suspect not.
