This is the problem tho. I believe that it was nothing other than short sighted marketing and NOT racism.
Companies are keen to ensure that their models etc are all inclusive so they dont just use blue eyed, blonde haired caucasion people, but all nationalities.
Couple that with the unfortunate slogan and you indeed have the problem that it appears racist. BUT, I dont think it was intended to be so at all. If a white kid had appeared in the ad, no one would have batted an eyelid.
However, I do agree that context is important as SP has pointed out.
and lets face it, calling most kids "little monkeys" is an understatement. Most of them are little ****
