Nigel thinks it might be a good idea, to send off Tony Blair "to obscurity".

//another thing the Brexiters have not taken into consideration is that the majority of Scottish and Irish voted to remain.
if we do leave there's a distinct possibility the Union will break up if the Scottish demand another referendum on Independence. //

We live in hope.......the next "step" perhaps. Let the Germans and French have the bother.
I see some still post that picture/poster (that no one found to post during the campaign) which, even if genuine, seems to be multiple images of the same thing someone would have had to erroneously had printed, having failed to understand the campaign message. It convinces no one, no matter how often it's dragged up. It was never stated as policy (it couldn't be as the opposing sides were cross party anyway) which is why some opt to lie about the campaign bus instead. And of that bus where the real statement is shown, that some can't seem to read without misinterpreting to suit their desired slant.
nooooooo... no more referenda.. "we has spoke " !!!!!
So, for all the speculation of his motives, he's suggesting it was just a, "maybe, just maybe", reflection for discussion/consideration then ?
Perhaps he's realised it could turn into a "Mrs May Moment". Whilst current polls show an increased majority for Brexit I think a whole load of people, so fed up with the whole business, could vote Remain just to get the business out of the way.
Doom and Gloom has nothing to do with it it's a thing called reality.!
UK is woefully underprepared for this brexit which is not that far off now if Farage and Company have their way.
take the Customs Union for example.
if we leave there going to be a need for massive infrastructure costing Millions if not billions , extra custom Staff, Customs Halls Lorry parks, etc.
a massive undertaking and nobody has lifted a finger yet to do anything about it.
all we have had is bumbling David Davis running around Europe waffling a load of nonsense and contradicting himself constantly.
this government is so incompetent they haven't even made an assesment of the consequences although they said they had but apparently they haven't.
incompetence at its finest.
The Professionals in business who do have competence have been warning for months of the consequences and they could be serious.
already we have the second lowest growth rate in Europe and brexit hasn't even kicked in yet.
that's what some of the people who go on about the economy doing well dont seem to realise we have not actually left yet.
when brexit finally kicks in that's when the problems will show for real

It's the Irish way of doing things. Keep on having referenda until the people come up with the 'right' answer.
no as i said on my thread about this, and most agreed, we voted once, to come out of the EU, we don't need, want another vote.

Let's have another referendum asap and maybe those disillusioned people who voted to leave will have seen the light by then. I live in hope......

I have seen the light. I voted to leave and everything subsequent to that convinces me that I was right to do so and would do so again.
Yes Spathi - sad to say we did thanks to a bunch of short-sighted, selfish numpties.
so all the leave campaigners are numpties, nice........

diddlydo; // sad to say we did thanks to a bunch of short-sighted, selfish numpties.//
Instead of insult, can you give a clear reason why you think this is so? Last night (Thurs 23:05) I gave several reasons* why leaving is exactly the opposite to what you say, it is in fact being long-sighted.

*You can add to that list the return of UK fishing rights, border control of who enters the country, and the retention of £8 billion per year given as net contributors.
“…if we leave there going to be a need for massive infrastructure costing Millions if not billions , extra custom Staff, Customs Halls Lorry parks, etc.”

Have you been on the sauce, ro, or have you been watcing re-runs of "Project Fear - The Movie"?

Do you think that every ship that docks and every aircraft that lands from outside the EU (bearing in mind that of our top ten trading partners, China and the USA rank second and third in import value) has its entire cargo systematically checked and compared to its manifest? Do you think that every lorry, ship and aircraft that arrives from the EU after Brexit will also be checked in that way? Even if you’re right (which I can assure you that you are not) is that a justification to forget the result of June 2016 just because politicians are inept at dealing with the requirements?

The “short-sighted, selfish numpties” to whom you refer (among whom I number) are nothing of the sort. As Khandro has succinctly pointed out, there are many reasons for leaving the EU. Those campaigning to remain could not really produce any positive reasons for remaining, only offering all sorts of threats about the consequences of leaving. Hardly a ringing endorsement.

When Mr Cameron paved the way for the referendum he handed the decision to the electorate. In his pamphlet sent to every household he said that the government would implement our decision. Alas he did not specify that the decision would only be implemented if it resulted in a Remain majority. He also did not place an intelligence requirement on those eligible to vote. As a result, the “short-sighted, selfish numpties” (and a few others) won the day. In a few years’ time the long-sighted altruistic geniuses will thank the numpties for seeing through the smoke and mirrors that was the Remain campaign and for extracting the UK from one of the most anti-democratic, protectionist international unions in recent history.
Another excellent post by NJ.
UKIP doing its usual confused dance today. The current Leader, a Mr Bolton, has said that Farage "misspoke"

I am not really sure what that means....either he favours a second Referendum or he doesn't.
