When young savages are attacking emergency services doing their jobs there has to be a serious break down going on. When I was that age it would have been unthinkable.

It all went wrong when the little loves were given human rights by the wonderful, wonderful pc brigade !!! You simply cannot chastise them these days and boy do they know it. I remember a few years ago when a friend had a teenager running wild, she was at her wits end and one day his Nan clipped him around the earhole after he had been particularly obnoxious and what...

" but then I didn't live in any areas with a lot of social issues, so clearly something does cause it, the trick is to find out what and how to counteract it. x"

Well i did live in a socially deprived are and that wouldn't have happened.
Yes......something must have caused it but that was identified and dealt with in the 80's ........with little or no effect I feel.

We can’t put a stop to this Spath very easily because the liberal thinkers have such a hold. They will find ever more desperate measures to Kurz anti social behaviour all the while making it worse.

There is no true respect these days.

"See TTT is is the complete blase dismissal of anything i've said, that is another issue" - it's not "blase", your assertions are mostly wrong, I answered each point fairly.
I think the world has become a much more difficult place for the young to grow up in than a couple of generations ago. If today's youth were to be transported to the fifties and vice versa it would be a very confusing world for both parties. The youth then weren't bombarded with pornography, addicted to technology or had readily available drugs. They weren't educated that sexual perversion was something to take "pride" in, that the police and teachers were "corrupt" and to be disrespected or were exposed to horrendously violent video games. On top of that, Dad went to work, and Mum stayed at home. They were married to each other and it was normal for a marriage to last for life.

Despite this unbelievably oppressiveness, by and large, society was more cohesive, authority was respected and convictions of honour and good sense (to quote Churchill) prevailed over "rights". I feel sorry for the kids of today and the world we have created for them, and feel sorry for any parent genuinely trying to bring their family up in these circumstances.

when I was 13 I had 3 jobs, later I put myself through Higher education by working hard and studying hard, I never felt the need to throw bricks at firemen. Modern Youth can do the same, the opportunities are much greater than I had.
Acceptance, we may moan a bit about this type of crime, but how many of us will actually do anything about it? When was the last time (: if ever) your MP made a statement re youth crime in our society ? Generations of parents ( maybe 2/3 ) have lost the ability to punish or sanction some of these young people. They are out of hand, parents/ education/police service/social services / politicians, are helpless. Will the courts act ?
I'd say over 99% of youth don't feel the need to throw bricks at firemen.
Spath---School tests are harder now. Don't make me laugh ! Anyone with a brain can make a stab at multiple choice questions. You would have to get 4 on a run wrong to fail. Never had multiple choice years ago.
Why do you spend your time asking strangers questions and arguing the toss all the time . Can't you ask your parents or grandparents ?

ummmm..that, if true, is nothing to be proud of........it should be 100% of youth.

spath--- they might not all be multiple choice but a lot of them are. Just pointing out that anyone can hazard a guess. Don't be so touchy!

spath....I didn't say that....keep to the point and the thread.

spath: "you're saying my assertions are wrong without fully understanding my position. You don;t know what i'm referencing or regarding." - I can only respond to what you type, give more detail and I will.
"13 with three jobs? Not heard of these days at all... proving some of my points." - err how? proving mine I think, we worked hard as soon as we could to earn our own money, most modern yoof get it on a plate.
