When young savages are attacking emergency services doing their jobs there has to be a serious break down going on. When I was that age it would have been unthinkable.

It all went wrong when the little loves were given human rights by the wonderful, wonderful pc brigade !!! You simply cannot chastise them these days and boy do they know it. I remember a few years ago when a friend had a teenager running wild, she was at her wits end and one day his Nan clipped him around the earhole after he had been particularly obnoxious and what...

I'd say it's more like 75% of youth who wouldn't throw bricks at the Fire Brigade. The rest are feral and getting worse.

Spath, how did you arrive at your percentage figure, do you have a link to back it up?

I thought not.
Taking flying leaps at percentages doesn't really get us anywhere does it?

Aiming for 100% law abiding is ideal of course in whatever section of society - should we ever achieve it, it will be the first time since mankind walked or crawled on the planet.

Still a goal we should aspire to.

I remember this exact same question being asked for at least the last 50 years. It will still be asked 500 years from now.
Spath, I know a LOT of firemen at least 20,and not one of them has ever had a brick thrown at them. You must live in a very 'rough' area.
Actually Spath I'm 20 and I've worked since I was 12 ( aside from my acting career) several jobs including glass collecting, deliveries, valeting, dog walking, babysitting, picking etc as well as starting my own businesses in my early teens, and yes it was my idea because my parents instilled in me a huge understanding that if you don't work, and work really really hard, you will not have the sort of life you want, so I don't think it's beyond today's teens to get jobs and work hard to better themselves although there are points you've made that I agree with as well.

^ If you are asking me, I am retired after more than 50 years in constant work. I live in North Herts and in social housing. With house prices around here I would have needed to earn at least 3x what I ever did to have had a chance to buy a house.
I'm a professional actress, I have some other businesses as all actors do if they don't want to starve (I only worked for other people until I was 15 in any capacity) which provides a solid income and I own my own house.

spath: "At 13 did you really think, right TTT, lets work hard now, get three jobs, and i can get a house, or were you made to by others? " - not directly but it installed the work ethic in me, when I was always able to buy everything for myself, often by saving, I felt I was getting along, that attitude has never left me. My parents were potless most of the time anyway. My jobs at 13 were paper round, butchers Saturday and some after school and Chinese chip shop some nights. This is not about availability of jobs it's about personal endeavour and I think it is sadly lacking in many of today's young, who, like you, prefer to bleat and want it all on a plate. Life is not fair but you can help to level the playing field with effort. The world loves a trier and hates a whiner, try being the former eh?
Not sure of your last point there Spath - the more inhabitants a town has the more people need jobs doing and to set up your own business as Kval did can be done from a Hamlet or a City.
Kvalidir ....I recall when at 17 you knew everything on here..jus saying but you never menched being an actress...

Today's society decline is down IMO lack of parental discipline .... All it needed but their children nowadays are their fwends.... Awww how wonderful NOT...! Children are children and you are the parent. Let them act like grow ups and you have lost the battle. The threat of discipline and KEPT was enough to stop us in our day. Bring children up don't drag 'em but today it not de rigour ....so other people are violated ....and ne'er the twain shall meet!
I've been an actress since I was fours year old Dunnitall, and it's always been mentioned on here as i think most regulars know, maybe you missed it? I was cast in my last feature film when I was 17 in fact, as numerous people who know me in real life on here will testify to. I also had a identity prior to this one on here since I was 14, you might have missed that too, and no-one knows everything as your post clearly proves whether they are 17 or 70.

//Kval, fair play, try live in a town woth 100’s of people simial to yourself and try and get that sucsess record//

Spath I think that comment is a bit rude tbh, my Dad dragged himself up from prison to being extremely successful by the same methodology, and I'll wager where he is from (The Falls Road) is far rougher than anywhere you are likely to have seen. A good environment helps but plenty of people 'from the ghetto' get out of it by sheer damned hard work.
The parents to blame then, and the parents who brought them up were which generation?

spath; "Kval, fair play, try live in a town woth 100’s of people simial to yourself and try and get that sucsess record " - you miss the point, it's about drive not competition.
I didn't start taking 'flying leaps' at percentages, actually ...
