// Far-right activist Tommy Robinson has been bailed after partly winning an appeal against a finding of contempt of court, which he admitted.
Robinson, 35, of Bedfordshire, received a 13-month jail term in May after he filmed outside Leeds Crown Court during a trial. //

Be interesting to read the judgement.

Look on the bright side. While the anti child-abuse campaigner is being smeared by left wingers, the Jews are getting a rest.
I dont see any doubt he can be considered innocent but the way it was done by The Establishment was very wrong.

Be interesting to see what comes out of a proper trial rather than a kangaroo Court.

The grooming trials at Leeds involve 19 men in 3 trials. All 3 trials have to conclude before judgements can be made public because the result of one verdict could influence the others.
Robinson live broadcast the second trial which was nearing conclusion.

Looking at todays schedule at Leeds Crown Court, in court 11 are defendents Aadil Malik x2, Ifzaal Malik x2 and Wakkas Butt. I assume that is the third trial, and it is still in session. The verdicts on them all should be known soon.
Question Author
Robinson’s appeal seems to have been won on a technicality. His solicitor advised him to plead guilty which means (probably everyone agrees) a crime was committed outside Leeds Crown Court.

If there is a retrial, there is the possibility that the sentence could be increased.
One must congratulate you Gromit on your research skills.

And no I am not being sarcastic, credit where credit is due.
If the court is found to have acted improperly, then it is absolutely right that such misbehaviour is addressed.

That is British law, it has been in place for hundreds of years, and it does not, and never will, need any 'help' from 'The English Defence League' and it's thuggish supporters.

Kangaroo court seems an apt description in this case. From arrest to sentence within 5 hours.

AOG,
Thanks for the complement, but I have just done a bit more research, and those 3 I assumed were in the third grooming trial, are not. It is an entirely different case. Sorry to mislead.

Possibly the third trial has not yet started.

Wanna bet?
Question Author
The third trial has a provisional start date of 3rd September 2018 and is expected to last 10 weeks.

A list of all the defendents is here.

Khandro,
Contempt of court can receive a tariff of 24 months. So a retrial has the power to increase the sentence. It was his second offence.

I am not saying that will happen, but it is a possibility.
If found guilty after a retrial I would put money on the sentence being the amount of time he has already spent in prison, allowing for his release.

Thanks for the links, blimey it's almost an epidemic, good job we have the likes of Tommy Robinson to put his life at risk by protesting against these increasing disgusting individuals that we have allowed to take over with their filthy culture.
// Whatever happened to the grooming gangs trial that he was protesting about? //

why protest about a trial

i cd understand a protest if the DIDN'T have one
amidst all the usual Blah about that is your opinion and my opinion is better .....
did someone ask for the text of the appeal this morning ?
they did
it is here
https://www.judiciary.uk/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/yaxley-lennon-full-judgment-1.pdf

Remember this is the judgement that let Tommy Tommy Tommy out. Nothing to do with grooming, and so on

Contempt appeals are usually heard by the judge who has passed sentence -and the ct of appeal usually declines to take a hand - so it is worth a read ( yeah yeah I know this doesnt comply with Euro-standards spec ifically nemo iudex in sua causa)
// good job we have the likes of Tommy Robinson to put his life at risk//
excuse me ?
// (probably everyone agrees) a crime was committed outside Leeds Crown Court. //

anyone read and understand the judgement ?
contempt is not a crime to start with ( oh!) and was recorded as such ( naughty naughty ) but that didnt really matter ( oh! ) however the prison regime for convicts is different and more strict than those committed for contempt ( oh! ) and so Tommy was subjected to unfairness ( naughty naughty ). The speed at which it was adjudged led to unfairness ( oh! ) but that doesnt mean the judges were minded to remit the whole sentence ( naughty naughty )
and so it goes on

an embarassing cack up (oh!) - not spotted by the original defence ( naughty naughty)

so it will be remitted ( oh! ) for a rehearing (oh!) by a different judge ( naughty naughty)

I think you're getting confused here - 'Tommy Robinson' is in favour of the EDL, he doesn't protest against them.

It's an easy mistake to make, there are just so many self-righteous numpties clogging up the internet with their ideas.
