// Far-right activist Tommy Robinson has been bailed after partly winning an appeal against a finding of contempt of court, which he admitted.
Robinson, 35, of Bedfordshire, received a 13-month jail term in May after he filmed outside Leeds Crown Court during a trial. //

Be interesting to read the judgement.

hereIam - // Good. Well done Tommy ! //

'Tommy' hasn't actually done anything, shouldn't that be 'Well done Tommy's legal team?
I think it rather heartening, that even a racist thug like him should have the benefit of due process. Thought that was what this democracy supposedly believed in.
The thing is that TR is now in danger of becoming a folk hero, righter of wrongs and a political martyr. I am astonished at the amount of support he has engendered.

'Tommy Robinson' is a very shrewd individual.

He has created and developed this 'man of the people' persona which chimes with a number of disaffected people who are frightened of what they see as a 'Muslim takeover', and are prey to a right-wing media that plays those fears like a violin.

He will be a 'folk hero' to a small minority who really believe in the 'Muslim takeover', and he makes a lot of noise, utterly disproportionate to his actual relevance to society as a whole.

Fortunately, the people who think he is a 'hero' will never be in a position to do anything to further is nasty xenophobic nonsense.

People like 'Tommy Robinson' love to play the victim, but they are equally delighted to accept the British system that they despise the rest of the time, when it admits its failures.

If only he could ever be so honest.

kinda like Farage did with Brexit

Tommy Robinson is not a xenophobes... You are just spouting ill informed nonsense, andy

'Tommy Robinson' and his irksome persona is one thing it is quite hard NOT to be informed about, his nonsense is everywhere, because that is how he makes money, by exposure of his idiocy.

You are of course entitled to dismiss what I say as being 'nonsense', but 'ill-informed'? Chance would be a fine thing!!
Apart from the fact that they are at opposite ends of the political spectrum, could you put a cigarette paper between TR and Corbyn?
Post the evidence of his xenophobia
Talbot - A personal address and a 'please' would have shown more manners, but never mind, here you are -

I wish I could sasy I really had to hunt for it, but .....

Not 'ill informed', 'ill considered'.
So you're not talking about people (which most folk would associate with xenophobia) you are talking about the xenophobia against the religion.

Though I'm sure you would agree that Islam is a
Horribly misogynistic religion, andy?
He has ONLY been freed on a 'point of law' over his bail , he has NOT won his appeal.
He still on bail and has to return to court for a new hearing , at which he is expected to be returned to jail to serve his full sentence for contempt of court.
Any chance of this tribune of the plebs finding a seat in parliament?
Maybe Rotherham, sandy? It depends whether he manages to avoid returning to prison. I can't think of a seat he could win.
'tribune of the plebs'? I thought that was Corbyn.
Surely Corbyn represents far more than 'plebs'. For example, his supporters in leafy, upper middle class, Islington wouldn't like to be tarred with that brush.
A leegil ecksprt rites.......
