What next will Muslim women be able to wear their Burkas while serving in HM Forces? After all Sikhs are allowed to wear their turbans.

Why does cultural or even religious bias have to be accommodated in certain situations!?? Whatever one is doing it should be relevant to the circumstances, not given to bias in any form! The Scouts, girl guides and Brownies are from here....we should NOT give in to religious or cultural thoughts IMO. What most people don't think of is....wht other countries...

We will have to agree to differ and leave it there.
Sacrificed on the altar of pc eh Brian ...

That sounds about correct. This man ex Artists Rifles has probably done more abseiling and canoeing than most other scout leaders and some professional soldiers come to that. He can speak and advise from years of experience but as you say sacrificed for PC and virtue signalling. I know who I would choose to supervise my children in outward bound activities.
Thanks retro. I feel quite strongly that he should be reinstated ...

/// The leap from a scout leader wearing a niqab to the armed forces allowing serving soldiers to wear a burka is plainly
ridiculous. ///

That is something we would have all said a few years ago, regarding a scout leader in a burka.

Everything is possible in this age of diversity.

I have nothing against him being reinstated, maybe he will learn from this that good manners matter and you can get your point across perfectly well without rudeness.

It's odd that the good manners I was raised to have is now a stick to prod one with.

Sadly professionalism and expertise plays second fiddle lest we offend.

/// However, British subjects must promise to do their "duty...to the Queen". ///

I thought that they were British subjects?

Unless of course some of them are 'illegals'.
ANOTHEOLDGIT, you seem to be obsessed with the belief that anyone in the UK who's not British is here illegally.
Crikey....from Muslim Scout leaders to Illegal Aliens in 3 easy steps....

yes isn't it wonderful?

Mamya, given some of his other comments, its possible that the Scout movement have been looking for their opportunity to be rid of him.

What most people don't think of is....wht other countries would accommodate and give into our culture if the Brits live I theirs? They don't and I agree to that. You live in any country, you abide by the laws and culture of that country. Tough if you don't like then DO NOT GO THERE. SIMPLES AIN'T IT.??

Don't I know it retro.
I’ve recently been to Dubai during Ramadan and sat drinking beer on an outside balcony. That’s just one example proving you’re wrong.
‘That is something we would have all said a few years ago, regarding a scout leader in a burka.’

Please don’t include me in your bizarre outlook on the world, AOG.
If one of the scouts was drowning could she rescue him/her, could she perform CPR and mouth to mouth ?
I don't see why not, the niquab isn't welded to her head.
ZM--^^^--you were very lucky then ,there was a woman doctor a few weeks ago put in prison for having on drink on the plane .
^^^^in Dubai.
