What next will Muslim women be able to wear their Burkas while serving in HM Forces? After all Sikhs are allowed to wear their turbans.

Why does cultural or even religious bias have to be accommodated in certain situations!? ? Whatever one is doing it should be relevant to the circumstance s, not given to bias in any form! The Scouts, girl guides and Brownies are from here....we should NOT give in to religious or cultural thoughts IMO. What most people don't think of is....wht other countries...

If she actually does go on the water instructing fellow canoeist in that hideous apparel then she is a danger to herself and the pupils she is supposed to instruct. I agree with the bloke
I suspect though, that she probably has a lightweight swimming burqua that I have seen Muslim women wearing on the shore.
As someone said on a previous thread a woman weighted down with that clothing would sink like a stone. She does look intimidating with those gloves as well.

I think he was spot on until he started on comments about what she looked like. I think a lot of people look ridiculous and I laugh and snigger at them behind my hand but for tHe most part they are allowed to look however they like.
I agree with him on how can she be safe, let alone the kids, in that getup during water sports or other dangerous things scouts do?
Does her scout group have boys and girls? I know girls were mentioned.

///He and his wife Annie are evangelical Christians – just like Chief Scout Bear Grylls – and Mr Walker was unhappy with a gushing profile of Mrs Kothdiwala ‘in her full Islamic veil’.
‘How sad and disappointed I am,’ Mr Walker wrote, ‘that the whole Scout mission is to push a politically correct agenda of multi-faith brain washing, anything that denigrates Christianity. In the magazine, children are encouraged to visit a Sikh temple or a mosque yet for a St George’s Day celebration are told “choose your venue carefully, the use of non-religious buildings can ensure the event is welcome to all”.///
The DM states..... "Clearly, Mr Walker, 63, is a man with robust opinions and a ripe turn of phrase....." which suggests to me that he has been quite forthright in his opinions on this matter and not just once.
It strikes me that, initially, he took offence because of the sympathetic treatment of an Islamic scout leader.....only bolting on the H&S aspect when he realised that he had dug a great big hole for himself.

He may be a religious nut but...

There's a good chance he is not making that up.
But we accept it... Wouldn't want to appear racist, would we.

AOG's headline is somewhat behind the times.
