Way to keep the conspiracy theories going, huh. I mean, now even Fox is on the side of the Dems?!

No doubt Trump wants to paint this as a personal victory, but it's not clear that he deserves as much of the credit as all that. In as much as it's possible to measure these things, polls tended to suggest that more voters were turning out to vote against Trump than for him.

A lot in 2020 will ride on who runs against Trump.
'Trump’s objective was never, really, to win. It was to deny the Democrats that ‘blue wave’ and as the BBC’s Jon Sopel observed, there was no Democrat tsunami: just some gentle lapping at the shore. And for all of their wins, the Democrats have still failed to find an anti-Trump. Nancy Pelosi embodies the timewarp that the American left finds itself stuck in. Democrats finish the midterms with no gods and precious few heroes. All told, Trump will be emboldened by these results.'

The Spectator
The Independent? Lol.
Just be some horse trading gong on behind the scenes as with all politics
Lol, Trump's objective is always to win. He didn't this time -- although, to be fair, he hasn't lost nearly as badly as he could have, and the Democrats haven't exactly won big either. How much of that is down to him, and how much down to the fact that the Democrats would have had to surge spectacularly to take the Senate in any circumstances, is a matter for the post mortem to decide.

Still, losing the House of Representatives represents a major check on Trump's ability to carry out his agenda.
and trump calls it a tremendous success
so fake nooz runs wild in Crazytown as usual
Trump has lost the House, but he keeps the Senate.

This means that he retains control over the law-makers, but will have to fight to get some of his legislation programmes through.

They House may now insist on the disclosure of the President's tax affairs, something he promised at election, but one promise he has yet to fulfil.

Overall, Trump will be delighted - sensible politics, in other words politics conducted by those other than Trump is about picking your battles, and negotiating the best result from the ones you can't win.

But Trump loves battles, it's the way he lives and works. He treats politics as though he is negotiating one of his property deals, and that means hammering the opposition into submission - so for him personally, it remains business as usual.
It’s killed off the wall I should think.
Although things will be tough for the republicans and Trump in the House, it will be hard for Democrats to get any of their legislation through the Senate. Which is why we might see a bit more compromise on some things

I am so glad I am not one of the people tasked with explaining to the President what the word 'compromise' means, and then getting him to understand it, and apply it to his presidency.
Stacey Abrams is hoping for a run off in December, it's the talk of the neighbourhood y'all :)
And Sessions goes ...
Indeed he does - the news feeds are saying that President Trump is talking about 'some changes' with his top team, but I am sure he would much rather they didn't jump, but hung around so he could push them - it looks so much better to the watching world!
Nice when a plan comes together.
Incidentally, some Democrats are honest and respect the people & country more than they hate Trump. Sometimes they'll vote accordingly.
Trump tells lies, every minute ,of every day.
Haha^^ :))
Should go for the labour leadership then he'll fit in nicely
Boris, and Farage also, tell lies every minute of every day.
"Bad News For Trump?" Nah! sorry;

◾"Many commentators around the world have looked at the US election results as a chicken looks at a knife: not knowing exactly what to do with it.... It is now proven that Donald Trump's election was not an accident. The victory in the Senate, even if anticipated, shows for the first time in a great democracy that a populist can keep power after having begun to exercise it." — Les Échos.

◾"...Trump is expected significantly to increase pressure on Europeans to invest the target of two percent of gross domestic product (GDP) on defense. Above all, Berlin will face pressure to spend billions and billions of euros, because the federal government is far from achieving this goal." — Die Welt.

◾"Many in the country had hoped that the first full electoral verdict on the presidency of Donald Trump would deliver a decisive repudiation of Trumpism. The results do not bear this out." — Irish Times.

How so, they don't. But still, the results also show Trump's party in second place in terms of the popular vote, by a far few percentage points too; and the loss of the House is a major blow, no matter how much Trump and others try to paint it otherwise.

I think it's better to call the midterms a score draw. Good result for Trump as the Republicans were the underdogs, but he hasn't won either.

'The American midterm elections attracted intense interest in Europe, where much of the political and media establishment are hostile to U.S. President Donald J. Trump, and many had openly hoped that the vote on November 6 would weaken him and his legislative agenda.

Newspapers and magazines across Europe provided saturation coverage of the elections. The overwhelming majority of commentaries and editorials, while customarily vitriolic in tone, grudgingly acknowledged that the midterm results did not amount to the total repudiation of the Trump Administration and may even help the president's chances for reelection in November 2020.'
