Grenfell Tower Bonfire Effigy

Just read in the paper that the police have raided the home of two of the men (father and son) arrested in connection with the bonfire burning of the Grenfell Tower effigy.

Why?

The men for the most part went voluntarily to the police station and one can but assume at this stage have admitted to doing it. So what are the police looking for? The evidence is a pile of ashes in the garden. Are they looking for nursery style scissors and sticky tape?

What they did was in very poor taste and crass beyond belief and people are rightly outraged but I do think this is overkill.

There are plenty of other "crimes" the police ignore.

We have all heard stories of houses being burgled or cars being stolen and when the police are told they don't do anything about it.

It also seems it was OK to burn effigies of Theresa May or show a model of Boris Johnson and a knife after he cut the head of Theresa May (at the Lewes firework display)

Of course anything involving "ethnic minorities" now has to be dealt with as top priority (less the police be accused of being too "white")

since nobody is privy to the full facts it is pointless to question motives for a police raid and/or speculate, clearly they think there is a need to delve further

It very possible that when the men were processed at the police station some evidence of another possible crime was discovered.

A hate crime is... "a crime motivated by racial, sexual, or other prejudice, typically one involving violence."

They obviously committed a crime, because well.. they got arrested didn't they.. I think the crime was motivated by the fact there were a lot of immigrants in the flats.. Which would make their prejudice motivation for the burning and uploading of the video.

Unless other evidence comes out I don’t believe this is a hate crime.

A bunch of stupid people thinking it is funny. Their crime is in being unfeeling so soon after the event.

They had many warning signs for grenfell.. it was a fire hazard waiting to happen and they know this.

On the contrary, AB is flaming judging by the number of threads on this subject.

One could equally say the outrage is because it effected mainly ethnic minorities.

Where is the outrage over the daily stabbings of their youngsters?
