She has suggested she won't lead the party into the next election. Wonder if that would encourage the opposition to go for a VONC in the government ? Trouble is, I'd suspect they'd not yet be confident of overturning the Tories and DUP voting for the status quo.
JRM suggests May should go based on winning the vote 200-117.

A much bigger victory than 52-48.

Strange how some small victories are big, and some big victories are small, isn't it?

What an *** he is.

Horrible individual. I liked the way Andrew Neil sent him off with a “you’ve got a busy evening’s plotting ahead of you!”
Hands up who thought Theresa May was ever going to lead the Tories into the next election?
At the moment they are heading for a spectacular defeat I’d say so I’m not sure that’s a job a sensible person wound want ...
I did switch on the newd long enough to see JRM looking very flustered indeed. The idea that she should resign now is fanciful.
*ahem*

The news...
so she won the vote, just as i predicted, some lily livered people out there in Parliament, so Mrs May fights on.
37% of her own party voted against her - a not insignificant figure. She may stumble on for now but she is mortally wounded.
but she is still there, mortally wounded or not.
I can't imagine anyone would wish to take on such a thankless task in her place so why all the three ring circus .....nobody could have handled this debacle any better .....I'd be gunning for David Cameron !!
i too would be gunning for Cameron, but he is dead in the water. Now what for Mrs May and her deal?
Emmie, she won't get it through the commons. The EU will not change anything in her deal.
Been saying that all along seekeerz all these tory Mps saying shes gotta go i dont see one of them standing up saying I'll take control...gutless the lot of them!
maybe she won't, but what happens then.
I think its brilliant that she triumphed over the VONC. She can now get on with what she needs to do.. steer the country through Brexit.
Emmie, who knows?
Banana split, candidates for the leadership require at least two nominations so there would be no point in putting themselves forward.
bagpuss
but no one wants this deal, its a bad one and not fit for purpose.
At about this point, might not Brexiteers on this site themselves also want a second referendum? It may become your only chance to kill the deal on offer, after all.

I would imagine that such a referendum only really makes sense if there are both "Remain" and "Leave with No Deal" on offer also, but if it's a three-way vote then I would expect Remain to win even with a minority as Leavers are split. So I'd propose a two-stage referendum, where Stage 1 is "Do you accept or reject the Withdrawal Agreement?" and Stage 2 is "Having rejected the Withdrawal Agreement, do you want to Remain in or Leave the EU ?"

Or words to that effect.
