Don't know if it's been mentioned, there was a 9 month baby boy in the Kia that was in collision with Price Phillips car.

A nine-month-old baby boy was also in the car but was uninjured, police said.

The CPS operates a two-part test when considering whether or not to prosecute. Step One is to examine whether there is sufficient evidence to support a reasonable chance of a conviction. Step Two is to consider whether it is in “the public interest” to do so. That aspect of this matter will not be considered by a junior CPS lawyer (as would any other allegation of careless driving). It will be overseen by a senior bod who will decide whether it is in the public interest to prosecute the Queen’s Consort for a minor traffic offence which would carry, at most (looking at the sentencing guidelines), a moderate fine and six penalty points. He or she will also consider that the court has the power to order either an outright disqualification for a short period (most unlikely) or a disqualification until a test is passed (if the court believes the driver needs to be re-assessed for competence).

Like it or not the Royal Family is not treated in the same manner, in matters such as this, as you or I would. I would be surprised if the Duke is prosecuted. Looking at more details of the incident today, he was not pulling out from a private drive but from the public road that leads from Sandringham to the main road. I know it well and it is a dodgy junction for any driver and there have been three accidents in as many weeks recently.

It was a Land Rover Freelander apparently. No where near the size of a Range Rover. I'd guess that it is probably armour plated though making it pretty heavy.

With low centre of gravity should be very difficult to turn over, I've been on their test track and very difficult to get into trouble if you use right gears.
