Interesting to note that the Sun reported that
'One youth appeared to be armed with a long stick as troubled flared'
That so called youth was in fact a police officer.

Most likely moot as well. :-)
Fact is.. if you're hostile to a race or religion, and you publicly voice that hostility, you're committing a hate crime.
spath, yes it does. Read it.
I have. You read it.
Spath for a hate crime to be committed it must be relative to a crime
"if the victim or anyone else thinks it was carried out because of hostility or prejudice based on race or religion.""

If the victim doesn't feel it was carried out because of hostility or prejudice, then it's not racist.

If the victim is lying, then they're a liar. Nothing you can do about that. But it should still be investigated.
Danny a hate crime in itself is a crime.
"Hate incidents and hate crime are acts of violence or hostility directed at people because of who they are or who someone thinks they are.

For example, you may have been verbally abused by someone in the street because you’re disabled or someone thought you were gay.

If you’ve experienced a hate incident or hate crime you can report it to the police."

spath, //"Something is a racist or religious hate incident if the victim or anyone else thinks it was carried out because of hostility or prejudice based on race or religion." //

Read it again and tell me what you think it means.
Naomi, i refer you to me at 15:21.
Spath, I repeat without a crime of some description you cannot have a hate crime.
Danny, i'm referring to AOG and Spice Rack on page 2. I'm not saying a crime has been comitted.
//if you're hostile to a race or religion, and you publicly voice that hostility, you're committing a hate crime. //

This isn't about a race or a religion though so what are you talking about?
If you have no idea what i'm going on about, maybe try understand that before joining in with the debate / convo.

I'm talking about the answer

"call me racist if you like but i say it how it is..i do not care about this pathetic label thrown out so much by pathetic liberals"

And then the responses to that.

I said:

"You know it's illegal to be racist? It's not a word like "snowflake" it actually has rather a serious amount of gravity to it. "

SR then said:

"No it isn't. No it doesn't.
Hope I don't get 'into trouble'. Lol"

It's all there to read.
spath, I've read it but I can't see the reference to race or religion that you're banging on about..
I never bought race or religion into it. Others did.

I then explained racism, hate crimes and religious hate crimes. That is all.

I'm trying to let people know that in fact, yes you should care if people consider you a racist or not, because it is punishable and it's not OK.
"If you have no idea what i'm going on about, maybe try understand that before joining in with the debate / convo."
What a giggle and meant to be I'm guessing?
14:05 Mon kick started it, if any answer did.
spath, //I'm trying to let people know that in fact, yes you should care if people consider you a racist or not, because it is punishable and it's not OK. //

"If people consider you racist". And around we go again. Someone screaming 'racism' doesn't equate to another being guilty of racism. That's the point. The paragraph in the link you offered simply serves to shut people up - and that's wrong.
That's a matter of opinion.

It's a hate crime for a reason. If you're knowingly spouting some hate crime, then yes, please shut up.
