That so called youth was in fact a police officer.

Getting back to the riot that took place in Stratford.

It would seem that if the police try to arrest a black person or persons others will rally violently in their defence.

They come over as very aggressive, listening to a LBC Radio phone-in this morning on the subject of stop and searches, the black callers were very aggressive and constantly shouted over the presenter, in such a loud and aggressive way.

Because they feel suppressed and are trying to fight for a voice and for their opinions to be heard. They're fighting for equality. The fact they have to do that would irate anyone.

What are you suggesting that a black youth has been knifed to death, in a highly black densified area, and that the police should also stop and search a white elderly woman who happens to be walking in that area, just so it won't be classed as racists?

And it shouldn't do. AOG is implying it should. Or at least I feel he is implying it should.

I've said if there is no description of the offender they are looking for, then don't be too specific with your searches.
Police will have to justify their stop and search acts. So in that sense, at least they will need good reason, and so they should have.

Possibly so. But in many areas the only people out and about when everybody should be tucked up in bed are black (and in many of those areas nearly all the people tucked up in bed are black as well). What do the police do then? Stop nobody because the only suspects they have are black?

The primary function of the police is the prevention of crime. Detection comes second. Stop-and-search is a crime prevention measure so they re not looking for "persons related to a crime".

Then you are not specifically targeting black people, you are targeting those who are on the street during a certain time. If they all happen to be black, that is different to selecting only black people.
