why is everyone so eager to tell gulliver what he must and must not comment on? They don't seem to apply any such restriction to themselves.
apc he won't stop, class envy as i said...
theshedman you only need to pay tax if property is not your primary property of residence.
Jno - there is nobody commenting on this question that doesn't contribute intelligently on only one subject.
Which gullivers isn't. He said before that he rents out 3 houses in the UK but he lives in another country.

The party of the working classes is more likely to be anything but Labour now. Labour has been taken over by students, middle class patronising wealthy and all the luvvies who don't practice what they preach.
i have friends who voted Labour, they are totally misguided in their faithfulness, yet they live a very very comfortable Middle Class lifestyle...
I did and I cannot see anything wrong with my answer at 11.16
gulliver is a total fantasist, I wouldn't be surprised if he lives with his mum and sits in his bedroom dreaming of a Communist style superstate.
'Boris Sells His House'; this is sensational news, I feel I may have to lie down in a darkened room to deal with this.

Seriously, I might send it to The Oldie, they have section called, 'Important Stories You May Have Missed', which contains items such as;
"Man broke wind during strip-search" (The Dundee Courier") &
"Knitting stolen in car break-in" (New Milton Advertiser).
emmie: "i have friends who voted Labour, they are totally misguided in their faithfulness, yet they live a very very comfortable Middle Class lifestyle..." - standard champagne socialists, do as I say not as I do. Abolish all grammar schools but send their own kids to private school. Tax the "rich" ooo except me of course. need I go on?
they are good friends but i don't try and talk politics to them, they think the Tories are the work of the Devil, why i just don't know.
crosswords and quizzes time for a swift exit.

A great mystery which I, too, have been unable to fathom.

I understand the wealthy "virtue" voters - often Thespians, the likes of Emma Thompson and Hugh Grant spring to mind. Whatever the government of the UK does is unlikely to have much of an effect on them. They have wealth managers who salt away their dosh, safe from the prying eyes and grabbing hands of the taxman. Supporting Labour makes them feel good and enhances their image in the eyes of the great unwashed. But I cannot understand genuine middle class people - those who are comfortably off courtesy of their hard work and efforts to earn a decent crust and support themselves. I have a friend who owns two properties worth probably £2.5m in total. He rebelled against his Tory parents, went to Uni, worked hard at a good job all his life, was never filthy rich but was always comfortable. But still he supports Labour and indeed sees the Tories as the Devil Incarnate. Very mystifying.
//I Pay tax in the UK as well as the Country I live in , that gives me the right to commemt on UK politics//

Fine, but this has sod all to do with politics. This is about a man selling a house. What was he expected to do? Give it away?

Gully is Wolfie Smith?

POWER TO THE PEOPLE!
Better to sell up than rent out to tenants that pay 1st months rent then squat at landlords expense.
I’m a left-winger like you, gulliver. But even so, I remember Tony and Cherie Blair making a mint from property.
