Why Is "comming Out" Still A Thing?

My son is gay, we love him and his partner of course, but the noise around the subject is ignorant and boring.

Indeed, but as far as I'm aware none mate for life. Animal instinct will encourage a dog to leap on a human leg for ... to put it simply ... an attempted bonk .... but if a female dog is available and willing the human leg becomes redundant so I believe yours is a spurious argument.

I don’t care about anyone ‘ coming out’. But I do care about the impact it may have on family and friends. I’ve seen a not dissimilar scenario and a family were destroyed.

anne, I was referring to the posters who began the threads. The issue seems to have attracted more threads than impeachment did.

As for the families, it'll be a matter for private negotiation - but I suspect Mrs Schofield won't be astounded. It may be tougher for young children, but the Schofields' kids are grown up.

The media furore only fuels the flames of Hompohobia, even if it is in support of Phillip Schofield coming out. Because it seperates it from normality.

Until we achieve neutrality around peoples sexuality, we will always make it a taboo subject.

How it should've gone down is 'By the way, I'm Gay'.....'OK, thats cool, would you like a cup of tea?'
