I thought he spoke well this evening - and laying down what they want to see with out policing it....'we are a mature and adult society'...... What do you think?

And to think of all the endless fuss and debate about Brexit - seems an absolute irrelevance now, doesn't it? Little did we know what was coming, back then....
I stocked up a bit for Brexit and everyone laughed at me when it didn't happen.I'm the one laughing now.Pasta anyone?
Not a fan of Boris but he's doing the best he can under difficult circumstances.Nobody could have foreseen this.
I'm glad we are out though, am sure we will handle things better on our own.
We'll be at the back of the queue for a vaccine though and it'll cost us more now that we leave the EMA in December unless we can get there first.Plus we've already left the EU's bulk buying mechanism for medicines and vaccines.
All over the radio this morning regarding that Johnson should order pubs, clubs, etc. to close so that they can claim on their insurance.
Legal teams on the radio stating that Johnson has sold all the owners short by not ordering the closures...
I rather doubt insurance companies will foot the bill.
I doubt it too.
Looks like this is the end of Brexit then , UK ain't never ever gonna really get out.

Yes, they were appealing to our better nature (let's hope we have that in abundance) and asking/advising us to do certain things. I'd much rather that than the draconian rules that now exist in France and Spain which really are in full lockdown.
I wonder if gulliver's overseas retreat is in lockdown?
I didn't see it (no licence now). We aren't obviously all mature, or adult, in the country. But otherwise... spot on :-)
The whole address is here Pixie.

I agree with the majority. Well done Boris.

However, I do agree with NJ about the closure of pubs, restaurants, etc. It should be compulsory. There will be many who will stay open.

Thank you, Togo x will watch that now x
//However, I do agree with NJ about the closure of pubs, restaurants, etc. It should be compulsory. There will be many who will stay open.//

NJ didn't say that, Apc. He was quoting someone else, (and disagreeing with it)
Ok, thanks Togo... that seems to make a lot of sense, while still being reassuring.
I haven't watched all the questions, although the first one mentioned Care homes. I have spoken to the manager of the one I worked at, and they are arranging for a staff living area in the home. So that, if it ends up being quarantined, staff can live in and stay there, to reduce the risk of lots of different people going in and out. They haven't yet been given any official or specific advice (as we haven't either). But it seems to be just being careful and aware, so far.
By telling people to stay away from pubs, bars and restaurant Johnson without ordering the establishments to close...may turn out to be problematic.

If the government haven't ordered these places to close, then it (or rather, we) don't have to take any financial responsibility - no sick pay or compensation because the government hasn't mandated it.

But these places will effectively be shut down.
I lost count of how many times he told us that we have to protect the NHS, I thought they were suppose to protect us. What he's saying is that the NHS is already on its knees before this virus even gets off the ground, an I should have got my finger out 3 months ago, but I didn't.
Thanks Spicerack. I don't agree with him then! I should read more carefully, I tend to speed read.
