Not entirely true. Parliament agreed to cede some of its supremacy, but retained the right to claim it back.

The problem with TTT's analysis, clearly, is that he's never been the sub in a BDSM session. The "real" control lies with the person who's being whipped, because it stops when they say it stops.

The European Communities Act was the safeword. I'm not entirely sure what the legal standpoint would have been had it been unilaterally repealed, but it's important to note that without that legislation, EU Law would have had no effect in the UK.

In any case, the point remains: the UK *chose* to cede some supremacy, and, since that was a choice, it could choose to do the reverse. In practice, of course, it would not have because it would be selfish and stupid to pull out of any international agreement of such scope without properly consulting with the rest of the EU.
