Take this, for example: // I still retain my original position - that Ms Thunberg is simply not old enough to have grasped the complexities of her subject ... //
Which would have a lot more force if Andy had even half the understanding Thunberg does of the threat that Anthropogenic Climate Change poses. Maybe instead of relying on your age to provide some claim to understanding, actually go out and learn something about it for a change.
But, seriously. Those who criticise Thunberg ought, really, to ask themselves several questions. Not least among which is why someone who is trying to raise a serious issue deserves so much bile. Clearly the answer is that they don't see it so seriously. So:
-- Is Climate Change a threat?
-- Can we do something about it, at least the parts that are in our control?
-- Are we doing enough? Collectively, as a species.
-- Should we try to move faster to mitigate the threat?
Given that the answers are yes, yes, no, and yes, and since, in the end, that is Thunberg's message, the only conclusion that can be drawn is that criticising her is deliberate, designed to deflect from the more serious issue.
