If anyone has showcased their own ignorance, Gherkin, 'tis not I. Your feminist analogy is just ridiculous... particularly since I don't go protesting or rampaging through the streets.
Also I have never implied that racism is confined to the United States. Racism is actually a two-way Street but the left-wingers don't recognise black-on-white racism or discrimination do they?

No, you're right. Because you sit on your privileged bottom because your ancestors did it for you! Look into black Friday. Fires, women sexually assaulted in the street.
This is a perfect example of your ignorance and privilege.
A lady died so that you, a woman, could even vote.
You can't comprehend why there is so much emotion involved for the people protesting.
Arguing with a racist is like playing chess with a pigeon. It'll just knock over all the pieces, poo on the board, and strut about like it's won anyway.

Nice turn of phrase, Gherkins (“ Arguing with a racist is like playing chess with a pigeon. It'll just knock over all the pieces, poo on the board, and strut about like it's won anyway,”) although I’d prefer something more, shall we say, earthy than ‘poo’. But perhaps you feared the righteous wrath of the Nanny Answerbanker...

Wrong again, Gherkin. I appreciate all that my ancestors did for me and feel their achievements images should never be erased from history. I wasn't born privileged in the least, but got where I am today not through a sense of entitlement but through sheer hard work and determination.
Various people died so that we - black and white - can have the privilege of freedom that we enjoy today.
Goodness, would you like some salt and vinegar to go with that great big chip on your shoulder?

But your ancestors had to. Do you understand that? Most of whom were sexually assaulted by white metropolitan police officers on the street. They didn't protest peacefully. 1910 was the year.
Just over 100 years later similar protests are taking place for equality across colour. You can't say racists don't exist. Are you implying their emotions are unjustified?
Educate yourself. That's what the movement is about. Trying to educate the ignorant.

White privilege isn't a sense of self entitlement. It's the small things like being over looked by airport security or not being racially profiled any time you walk down the street. If you know it or not, white privilege helped you get where you are today. The fact you don't realise that is another perfect example of white privilege.

Gherkins what the hell are you on about with your 'white privileges'?? I am a white woman of a certain age and I have worked very hard all my adult life to get where I am today. I didn't have kids, so I carried on working full-time for many, many years (I now have a part-time job). Every 'privilege' I have ever had I worked hard for myself, no-one presented me with them on a silver platter. I live in a small, modest house, drive a small car and still continue to pay my own way and always will do, but YOU think I'm privileged and the way you say it, it seems you feel I should be ashamed of it!! I won't be the only white person to have done this, not will I be the last - are they privileged too, in your warped opinion?? Also, in your warped opinion, anyone who is angry with all that is going on now because a criminal thug died in another country, is quite simply 'racist'!! Please do tell me where that huge chip on your shoulder comes from.
