Obviously that is never going to happen.
There are no apps currently available.
Landlords do not know how to implement them.

Are the Governments advisors not living in the real world? Do the not realise there isn’t a chance of that working.

After the Corona App fiasco have they not learned anything.

Gromit's post seems to working from a false premise anyway. There is absolutely NOTHING in the government's guidance to the hospitality industry which say that pub must use apps. The guidance simply lays down basic principles and it's up to individual licensees (or the company's that own the pubs they work in) to determine the best ways to ensure that the...

F-f.

You have said I have misunderstood, and when I ask you to explain, you have not answer the the question.

Pubs will reopen, but these daft rules imposed by idiots will be universally ignored. And no one other than large pub chains will use an app.
What rule?
So why does your OP say

Fancy a pint in the pub? From 4 July, you can have one - or indeed a mojito or an orange juice - in England.
But you probably won't be able to stroll up to the bar and order what you fancy.
And in many places, you may find you need an app for that.
The government has published a lengthy document, giving guidance to restaurants, pubs and takeaways on all the measures they will need to take to operate safely.

// "You turn up at the Dog and Duck, scan a QR code at the venue, which takes you to a website where you complete your details, first name, last name, phone number, email address," he says.
Then, I receive my own QR code via phone, SMS or email - and use it when I pay.
Pubs will have more data on customers who agree to receive marketing messages //

- Never going to happen.
i use the app in the spoons all the time NP. Easy enough for any battle cruiser to get one sorted. App writers will knock one up in a matter of hours from a skeleton.
>But you probably won't be able to stroll up to the bar and order what you fancy.
Well I was not expecting to be able to. I'm expecting table service initially. Just as in restaurants there will be no buffets/ordering at the bar.
It'll work by hook or by crook in that you'll be able to get a drink or food. Some will do it as recommended, some won't. People who don't worry about the virus or don't want to give real names/numbers won't cooperate or follow the guidelines, others will.
It’s a joke.Completely un policeable.
You drink in Wetherspoons, TTT? That surprises me.
gromit: "Pubs that do not already have an app will have no chance getting anything sorted before 4th July." - rubbish, there'll be app writers with off the shelf apps to tailor to any boozer in a matter of hours.
It’s not going to happen. It’s just the Govt trying to look like they’re putting measures in place.
ummm I use the spoons when I'm visiting a town, I like the app, it helps be find the boozer and get served, simples. In my home town I tend to use a club I know. I'm getting their app set up now.
And there must be thousands and thousands of people like me who just have a mobile which just sends and receives calls and texts...Not even email on the phone.
Zacs is right. It's recommended practice so a box can be ticked and because we know sufficient numbers will introduce it in full or in part- some chains know customers will in general prefer to go somewhere that is taking reasonable precautions but won't want it to be overburdonesome
All that fuss just to get a drink, and pay through the nose for it, no thanks, I will carry on getting it from the supermarket. :0)
I’d do the same too if I didn’t have any friends, teacake.
it's all optional but if you go to a place that has an app, insists on usage and takes no cash then conform or go elsewhere. Getting on board gives you choice.
There will be a take up with large chains / pub co’s. The free houses and country pubs wil just crack on as normal.
