Gromit's post seems to working from a false premise anyway. There is absolutely NOTHING in the government's guidance to the hospitality industry which say that pub must use apps. The guidance simply lays down basic principles and it's up to individual licensees (or the company's that own the pubs they work in) to determine the best ways to ensure that the...

But you probably won't be able to stroll up to the bar and order what you fancy.
And in many places, you may find you need an app for that.
The government has published a lengthy document, giving guidance to restaurants, pubs and takeaways on all the measures they will need to take to operate safely.

Well I was not expecting to be able to. I'm expecting table service initially. Just as in restaurants there will be no buffets/ordering at the bar.
It'll work by hook or by crook in that you'll be able to get a drink or food. Some will do it as recommended, some won't. People who don't worry about the virus or don't want to give real names/numbers won't cooperate or follow the guidelines, others will.
