Perhaps Answerbankers think people would swallow their pride and queue up outside Food banks just to get a free loaf.

Where does the food come from in the Food Banks?
In every socio-economic group people manage their finances differently, when I was teaching there were members of staff who lived from one overdraft to another and were happy to do so.
When my daughter had to claim benefits she ensured that she and her daughter were fed yet others on the same level of benefits didn't.
It's not as simple as throwing money at the problem it's about attitude, whether we like it or not there are those who think it's everyone else's responsibility to look after their family.
At the moment there are a lot of people in dire financial straits through no fault of their own becuase of the pandemic and they deserve our help but the problem is much bigger.
10:09, Gawd I somehow knew it would be TGL's fault! She was last in power in 1990! PMSL!

Burkes like me and Mrs A who make regular contributions. Idiots, aren't we? (Or is that just 'virtue signalling' for the cliché-happy majority?)
Allen has posted a link explaining the reason. Perhaps he hasn't read it.
Exactly Allen. So there're still plenty of people giving.
"Burkes like me and Mrs A" - you do know that's rhyming slang don't you?

You're always *** yourself, Tora; I'd get it seen to if I were you.
LB, the supermarkets also supply a lot that's reached it's sell buy date.
10.17 TTT, Did you see Thatcher the Muppet on Spitting image ? Wonder why they chose Halloween to show it. Oh well at least she can park her Broomstick up for another year.
The word 'berk' is derived from cockney rhyming slang to denote a word which would not get past the AB censor.
According to Johnson and his Cronies, there is no such thing as Poverty in Britain.

I choose my words with care, T3.

Thatcher might be dead and gone (praise be) but the pernicious, selfish ‘society’ she promoted lives on. Even your hero, Tony (what, me?) Blair, promised to preserve her legacy.
Allen, how do you feel about Food Banks giving bags of food to their workers?
Question Author
Feed the hungry. Even you, naomi.
I'll ask again. How do you feel about Food Banks giving bags of food to their workers?
allenlondon "Question Author It would be nice if some of you would step out of your 'I'm all right jack' bubbles, your 'everything's alright if only these lefties would stop wingeing', your 'people should pull themselves up by their bootstraps' mentalities and see that society has deteriorated, largely thanks to Thatcher and her goons, from a caring place of sharing people to a bear-pit where the winner takes all and the losers can go to hell. "

I just absolutely do not think that is true, or ever has been. Through my life my family and I have been both givers and receivers of kindness under very different circumstances and in different parts of the country and actually different parts of the world. We aren't especially "good" or "lucky". Yes we have met nasty folk, selfish folk, bullies, cheats and criminals but they have been in the absolute minority.
//Where does the food come from in the Food Banks?//

Donations. Public and manufacturers.
//how do you feel about Food Banks giving bags of food to their workers?//

Whhere did you get that from Naomi? A few years ago, I volunteered at a food back (cut short, as I found work shortly after). The only time anything like that happened was with expired food which couldn't legally be distributed to the public.

And I’ll answer you again.

Feed the hungry.

PS why does scoring cheap points come so high on your list of priorities?
