For once he would be right to stop the Christmas free-for-all. He might then come across to more people as a leader.

No they've always stressed its nor a free for all and the messages are that we should not see the rules as something to push against and its essential to be extra vigilant and its not compulsry to gather, only do whats really necessary to see children etc. And avoid board game's, close contact, hugging granparents. Open windows. Ect. Common sense. Most will do it. The regular rule breakers will no doubt still break the rules and be selfish.
I think he will crumble on Brexit.
God forbid that he does. He will be committing electoral suicide.
It should have been done by now.
Monsewr Barnier is tricking him.
Even if he does another U turn, how do you police it. People will continue on with their lives one way or another, some will adhere tp the rules but many may not.
Its the Brexit that worries me.
London is going into Tier three fine, but we are over 8 million souls, you can't police them all.
Coffee time. With honey mmmmmmmm !
Are you talking about just England doddlydo as the other leaders have signed up to it. Yes with hindsight theres a case for saying should of postponed Christmas until Easter after most vaccinnations and better weather but it's to late to change it now, would be better just emphasising the guidance, keep visits to minimum, socially distance incomes, get tests and saying police will break up partys
Scotland doesn't seem to a lot different Bobbin. Minty says they may go into Tier 2?
There will no doubt be parties ( fools) we will have our Christmas dinner about 2pm then we will tootle back down the street about 5pm to our own house, I won't hug my daughter ,son in law or grandson but I'd like to ,it'll be nice to see them again and not just through a window ( we live in the same street )
Nothing will stop this virus. We're going to have to live with it. Get used to it. The futile message of the Canute-like govt and
"the science" has simply been; isolate; wash your face; wash your hands; wear a mask. That hasn't worked has it? If anyone means further ruining the economy is showing leadership, then Bojo the Clown's yer man!
10cs, as NJ has pointed out on other threads -
what would you do diddly.
So have I, Emmie. So have I! :o)

Large family gatherings sitting round a table for hours on end and sharing food is a recipe for disaster so I have no idea why people are even contemplating it. Yes, I know that some people would ignore any rules but if Boris wants to retain any credibility re "following the science" he should now say that the Tiers remain in force over the whole Christmas period.
i know, but he comes up with stats and long threads, mostly interesting and informative. I believe we are also going to have to learn to live with this virus one way or another.
''We played weddings but you wouldn't laugh, we played funerals but you wouldn't cry!''
// That hasn't worked has it? //

ah but, that's because sooooo many people don't wear masks, don't use sanitiser, don't make space. allegedly.
people with large families, how do you stop them congregating together, if they live in the same house.
