Nah, not a scrap of evidence that the increase in transmissions is due to people not following the guidelines. Hardly any prosecutions, hardly any known clusters.

One thing I would seriously consider is stopping the sale of alcohol. Sorry to all the responsible drinkers but it is linked to a reduction in normal responsible behaviour, people get closer, more touchy feely, its the reason large groups are still gathering. It would need serious restriction and checks on the local stores with off licences as part of the business, many of them are already a focus for anti-social behaviour in small communities.

No it isn’t. Large groups are not impromptu gathering, and not because of alcohol. Some large groups are gathering because they are praying to god. Large groups (hundreds of people) are doing their weekly shop together in supermarkets, hundreds of children, and their parents are meeting at the school gates. That is happening everyday in every town in the UK.
There might be one or two isolated incidents of people meeting for a drink but certainly not widespread. And the law can sort them out for breaching numbers, no need to bring in prohibition.

Sorry most churches and other places of worship that are open have put social distancing measures in place, but I agree shut everyone of them we don't need religion of any flavour. We do need food, cleaning materials, and personal hygiene items. We don't need alcohol. Might reduce some of the supermarket traffic

People who normally have a personal space requirement within the normal range hug, stand ever closer, and other very close activities. People who are drinking often talk louder, increasing droplet and aerosol production, they may start singing, Churches have stopped congregations singing hymns. Then they leave, still disinhibited, to travel on public transport, not aware enough to be careful of others. It wouldn't be for long, and many will be doing Dry January anyway.

Yours doesn 't but like so many other aspects of the controls they have to affect everyone to try to stop the irresponsible or thoughtless behaviour of what may be a minority.
You say this is my normal so I am entitled to continue..... My normal was swimming three times a week, basically immersing myself in dilute bleach and keeping well away from other users. I accept that others can't use such facilities safely so they must be denied to all, ( Even when the pool was open they closed the changing rooms so no women over a certain age or size would go)
Others may say their norm is meeting their mates every Friday night and getting ratarsed, they might say they go to a pub with a garden or with well separated tables and walk there and back and all live alone and are under 30 so they are not really at risk or a risk to others it's all on the same continuum and I get a bit fed up with people saying I am not part of the problem, what I do is fine, and I have a right to do x or y..... But you doing it, says it's ok for everyone. we need rules without exemptions until the vaccine is fully rolled out.
