I paid in the old bangers are Aldi this morning but they were a bit sniffy. Cash was refused in a garage the other week. Do you think the retailers are using this to edge us towards a cashless society?

I can understand the drivers not wanting to handle cash.

Some fares here can't be paid by card due to the ticket machine set up, same with different bus companies. I have a concessionary pass where I pay half fare at peak times, but the machines can't process both the pass and a card, so cash only.

I'm hoping they'll sort it that cards can be used as I'd use that over cash. When going to work, I pay two separate half fares (different bus companies) per day, so that's a lot of change needed, especially if exact fare only. It'd make it a lot easier to pay by card.
