It's Friday - the best day of the week.

No plans here this weekend, I think OH wants to do as much work to the house as possible. We're having the new front door and garage door fitted in Feb so there's a fair bit to do before then.

Thinking of both Minty and Boaty and wishing them a speedy recovery. Here's hoping they'll be back in our company soon.

Morning. I accidentally went to sleep early last night. I didn't make his lunch!! Making a Vietnamese noodle salad at 5am is not cool.

Sort of. It's more because he went to the shop on the way home from work and bought all the fresh herbs I needed and I'd already cooked the chicken.

I would have gone back to sleep otherwise :-)

I do look after him though, and vice versa.

I hope nobody else gets sick, hospitals are not the place to be.

My OH has got an egg sandwich and cheese and biscuits today. He is very domesticated and will do the cleaning and ironing, but he does like his lunches made for him. I like looking after him so I'm happy to do it.

I used to grow Vietnamese Coriander in our old garden. It was wonderfully fragrant.

I had this spice mill / coffee grinder thing and used to make mind-blowing herby salad dressings.

Marty doesn't care, he likes lunch being made for him but wouldn't complain if it wasn't.

With Covid....he doesn't have realistic access to hand washing facilities. I'm doing it so he doesn't have to go to the shop and bring germs home :-)

Morning all, so the previous thread nearly went 24 hours....must be a record, even for a GMEB......anyway, I share your thoughts, Lady CG as to Boaty and Minty - Boaty did say that he had his tablet with him, a rather ironical fact given that how many thousand tablets there are around him in Gloucester Royal.

The fire saved here and now the stove is blazing away - much colder this morning....feels like -1°C out there and it won't get above 3° all day.

I am hoping for a nice, dry day today. I need to go to work and tender my resignation and then I'll have to work a 4-week notice period.

Hopefully Boaty will be able to join us before long, if he's up to it. Did he sound okay when you spoke with him?

Yes, he sounded in fairly good spirits, a 'one of these things and I should be home in a couple of days.'

So are you planning to take a new job then?

Yes, I'll be starting in a new post as soon as I leave this one.
