It was well known that Charles was a Three Degrees fan. I think they did a few Royal variety show performances on the back of it.
Megan referred to concerns about how dark his skin might be when he’s born. Where did the word 'concerns'- did someone say they were concerned or is Megan now interpreting a conversation as 'concerns'?

Maybe am blind but it never occured to me she was black or mixed race at first- just thought she was very attractive
When my friend was going out with an Indian man we speculated on what colour any potential children might be.
I think Meghan must have made up ‘concerns’ from what was already going on in her head.

Incidentally, William said it took him a while to marry Kate because he wanted to make sure she could handle Royal life. A shame poor lonely Harry didn’t/couldn’t do the same.

I don't want to start a new thread about this, so can someone tell me this? Would Archie be the first person of colour born into the RF?
William on BBC lunchtime news said he’s going to ring Harry. I wouldn’t be surprised if William gives him an ear-bashing. Watch out for the Oprah show part 2 - another ‘poor us’ performance.
naomi, do you know the answer to my question @ 16.00?
I can’t be sure, but I think so, Barsel
... at least the first born on the right side of the blanket.
I realised, jackdaw :-). Half Jamaican, quarter icelandic and quarter English...
// Would Archie be the first person of colour born into the RF? //

that would depend if you accept Queen Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, consort of George III was black. the jury's out on that but there's a school of though that Charlotte, though German, was directly descended from a black branch of the Portuguese royal family, related to Margarita de Castro e Souza, a 15th-century Portuguese noblewoman nine generations removed, whose ancestry traces from the 13th-century ruler Alfonso III and his lover Madragana, who was said to have been a Moor and thus a black African.

if that is accepted as fact, then every royal from George IV downwards has some "colour" in them.
Mushroom beat me to it!
To quote what Meghan actually said ... there were "several conversations" with Harry about Archie's skin tone, and what that would mean or look like.

That doesn't sound like a casual throwaway comment along the lines of "I wonder what colour their eyes will be" or "I wonder if they'll have big ears like their Grandad".

It sounds more like somebody was making a repeated point to Harry, and he shared it with Meghan.

But for me, the "racist" element was not the worst thing to come out of the interview. The worst thing was the alleged lack of support for someone who was having suicidal thoughts.
Ellipsis, if she was having suicidal thoughts why didn’t she go to a doctor or nurse - the Royals must have access to medical care? Why go to Human Resources? Why didn’t Harry arrange for her to get help through his therapist?
So many whys. It doesn’t ring true.
I know it wasn't Andrew because on the day in question, he was taking his girls to Burger King/McDonalds/Kentucky Fried*

"I wouldn't be surprised if William doesn't give him an ear-bashing." And i wouldn't be surprised if Harry doesn't hang up on him should he so much as think of doing so. William will do as he's told to do and say what he's told to say by those above him in the pecking order.
"Your post reminds me of this comparison:"

From what I see the second column there definitely doesn't apply to GPs who are my first port of call when I get a depressive bout.
