Isn't Boris right when he says the general public don't give a toss about how it's re-furbished?
Isn't this the MSM (& Starmer) trying to make something out of nothing?
He is right because he means that the country should pay for the flat inside 10, Downing Street, and i do not see anything wrong with it. Starmer is trying to make political points with the issue.
// he means that the country should pay for the flat inside 10, Downing Street, //
yes - no
it is the Lord Chancellor hand printed paper issue - the then lord chancellor wanted ( and got ) wall paper that cost £65 000 to paper a room. Far too much - what is wrong with anaglypta?
and I think oops oi fink - £59 000 is far too much for a tart's boodwar
it looks like Marie Antoinette's 1788 boodwar in Versailz which you cd go and look at - they didnt have the moolah to redecorate for winter. - despite Necker being finance minister - too much detail
I thought boris' defence was good in the commons today
my lords - as the Latins used to say - - slippy sloppy slarvy
anyone Mr Speaker with a hoosit of elenchi
will know this Latin verb - I have decorated
specifically in those times - - - I have got a slave to decorate !
hoojah! Mr Prime Minister - as they used to say at Eton - bottoms up!
oh come on, usual suspects, someone must have no idea and will wish to quip the inevitable and crushing put down - "and what is a tart's boodwar when it is at home?"
I rarely watch P/M question time. I did today. I’ve never seen Boris so rattled and angry as he was today when answering ( actually he didn’t answer) questions from the opposition leader . Just saying .
There is someone looking into who paid for the flat to be refurbished so why couldn't Labour and some of the others ask questions about things that are more important.
it should be met by the taxpayer, after all it wouldn't work out that much per head in the grand scheme of things. We keep the RF so why not a refurb at No,10 flat.
depends on whether there is furniture to consider, if you are going to redecorate the walls, you may not want what the last occupant had installed. I don't have a clue as to the cost, but did someone high up in government have an office decorated that cost hundreds of thousands. someone enlighten me perhaps.
