Why Is India Falsifying Death Figures?

Just seen the report on Sky news. They asked one crematorium how many deaths in the last 24 hours and they responded with a number that was less than they had seen brought in in the last hour. They later questioned another set of figures and were told by the officials that they had been ordered from above to quote lesser figures. So what's going on? Gawd knows what the true figure is.

on news online this morning, it said they have had 200,000 deaths so far, my feeling its way in excess of that, why would they falsify the figures, their government are running scared and perhaps they have a hand in this lying.

My guess is that in a country of that size of population it is nigh on impossible to quote accurate figures so why even obsess over it.

A Sky news reporter counted 20 bodies in an hour at 1 crematorium, when they asked the officials for a number for the last 24 hours they said 17 so if one crem is reporting 3.5% of the truth that means the true figure could be vastly greater than quoted.

If people are dying without medical attention and being cremated a day or two later without an autopsy then there is probably no opportunity to positively identify & record them as covid deaths.

People are dying in droves or is it more important that we chalk them up in scores or dozens?
