Frankly the “where are they now” stuff is plain silly.
You see what you want to see and here what you want to hear.
We’ve hardly heard anything but criticism and alarm at the treatment of women by the Taleban, and rightly so. Mind you I’m it sure what good anyone thinks it’s going to do.
Civil war is coming tho I fancy
ken: "I didn't realise civilian aircraft was being used in the airlift? " - the septics asked United Airlines to get involved ken.
12:55 yeah a few, most of them ain't
The boys in the picture will surely have mothers and other female family members so where are they?Even if all those men were employed as interpreters it doesn't seem right to split their families up.
"Civil war is coming tho I fancy"

You seriously believe anyone in Afghanistan is going to take on the Taliban when the Afghanistan army - trained and equipped at vast expense by us and the USA - melted away? Not a chance.
^
There is already a small pocket of resistance fighters doing just that.
ich: "Civil war is coming tho I fancy " - how? one side has won already.
Yes but there are resistance already arming.
It isn’t only the west that struggles to rule Afghanistan. It has been unstable since the mid seventies
You cannot compare the Afghan army with any group actually willing to fight. The Afghan army might have blown the Taleban away if they’d actually fought. Who knows
ich: "The Afghan army might have blown the Taleban away if they’d actually fought. Who knows " - perhaps, shame that didn't occur to them.
TTT; "The septics asked United Airlines to get involved, Ken."
Actually, TTT, they ordered UA to get involved, activating the rarely used Civil Reserve Air Fleet.
"Rather than going in and out of the capital, the commercial planes will transport people from US bases in Qatar, Bahrain and the UAE to European countries and, for many, onward to the US."
Chinese and Russian embassies still open for business, a slight tweak to the dress code has been implemented mind you. This could get very messy if some sort of resistance mounts.
It would be great if the Taliban undertook a terrorist attack against the Chinese. They would retaliate and destroy the scum in about 4 days.
I think the Taliban will meet more resistance now than they did 20 years ago. The Afghan people, especially the young have experienced a taste of freedom and the Western way of life. They will not want to revert back to the old ways.
Somebody sent me a picture of a group of young carefree Afghan girls wearing short skirts and laughing and talking amongst themselves. Next to it was a picture of a group of females wearing the full burkha, completely covered from head to toe with just a piece of mesh where the eyes are. It was entitled 'progress'. Very, very sad. How heartbreaking to have to live like that.
What is the source of the photo?
They look more like exchange students or athletes?
Can anyone else find it ?
I think they are soldiers not refugees.

// Hundreds of Afghan soldiers fled to Uzbekistan with 22 military planes and 24 helicopters last weekend //

Good find Gromit .
// A total of 585 Afghan soldiers have arrived on aircraft and 158 more crossed the border on foot on Sunday, the Uzbek prosecutor general's office said in a statement. //
The photo is from last Tuesday, before Biden asked commercial airlines to help with the airlift.
