///////I see no one has responded to my earlier post, not that they can.////
Nobody has suggested that masks prevent the transmission of Covid.
I agree medical studies are sparse on this topic but the Asian and other studies have shown either positive or equivical benefits from masks reducing transmission.
None have shown( to my knowledge) that masks increase the transmission of the virus.
Yes masks should be worn in the appropriate manner but many are.
So if the benefits are there, albeit small, with cases high and death rates still significant, why not wear them in crowded situations, what is the big deal?

Really, you should read more of the posts on AB from the Covidians.
//but the Asian and other studies have shown either positive or equivical benefits from masks reducing transmission.//
With major strings attached i.e the proper use and the proper mask. That the vast majority dont do. And even then the best is 10%.
//None have shown( to my knowledge) that masks increase the transmission of the virus./
Not 'The virus' but if the same one is worn day in day out continually you must know bacterial problems start to arise. So whilst you may not get covid through wearing a mask there are other issues.
//Yes masks should be worn in the appropriate manner but many are.//
That is absolutely incorrect, unless you are talking medical professionals in a medical setting. Most masks worn by the general public are not up to standard and are not worn correctly, stored correctly or put on correctly.
