Some people are blaming covid, but supermarkets are blaming Brexit.
Long queues of Lorries have formed at Calais trying to get supplies into the UK ,
as New year import control of goods from the E/U begins to bite.
Super market workers are saying delivery lorries are just not arriving....(they should know)..

The truth of the matter is that many supermarkets have had their way of working disrupted, nearly all of them work on a just in time basis. The disruption is for many reasons. Like hearing it or not, Brexit is one of them. Now some may insist that they have not experienced a shortage regarding their own personal shopping list, but one thing is for sure is that your...

OH has just come back with several bags of shopping. I wonder where he got it all from...
Same here^
I don't usually venture into Gulliver's panic news section, but, as a shelf stacker at Morrisons I can report full shelves here, no shortages of loo/kitchen rolls, plenty of fresh fruit and veg from all over the world. Our department (fresh food, pre-packed) is bulging at the seams; in fact we're getting rollickings for our waste and markdowns being high - basically due to the large volumes we are getting daily. (NB we are giving plenty to our local charities, etc).

Do wish the OP would stop stirring that big wooden spoon.

Of course Covid can be partly blamed for the breakdown in the food chain.
But it is mainly Brexit related Preventing migrant workers filling vacancies
required to Pick...Pack...and Deliver food.
Just in from Asda, shelves fully stocked of everything ,then to Costco for k rolls and t rolls which were floor to ceiling….next !
Just back from Tesco. All fine. Maybe you should move back to England, Gulliver. You seem to be struggling all the time where you are. It must be awful for you.
Mrs sqad agrees with Gulliver.

In our area the main supermarkets and M&S are thin on the shelves and what is there, is spaced to make the shelf look full.
Her assessment after chatting to staff is that it is a shortage of lorry drivers due to Covid.

Don't know why the hell they still call it the United Kingdom , because as sure as hell .............. It ain't United..................
Avoiding the question from naomi - par for the course.
Forget the suggestions that the Ed funds you - more like Putin's mob in the Russian Embassy as I don't think that the Kremlin would be really interested in undermining AB with its limited audience. Having said that, I hope you have plenty of sturgeon eggs, caviar, blini, Russian 'champagne' and potato juice, along with beetroot to keep you going during this period of UK supermarket 'starvation.'

DTCwordfan, If anyone should know about Supermarkets it would be you surely.
From the days when you were a Rep for Rice krispies..or had you forgotten
now where did i say that - evidence please....
and even if I was, it would be irrelevant to a shelf-stripper like you.
Gulliver it’s no wonder people are getting bored with you,DTC said or done nothing for you to be so nasty to him, yet no doubt when he retaliates it’ll be the same old rhetoric from you telling all and sundry you get picked on!
