70 years ago today since her father died and and at 25 years old she became Queen, she’s worked tirelessly since and still does at the age of 95 , useless? I think not!

The Queen has shown how wise she is in issuing this statement.
I do not subscribe to the view that she believes she will depart this world in the coming year. There is none more prepared than HM and her household. She knows what weight this wish of hers will carry for seamless continuity of the British monarchy and she has made it known whilst she is the head of the C of E and to her PM and Government.

I am pleased with the news and it came as no surprise to me following on from HM bestowing the Most Noble Order of the Garter on the Duchess of Wales. Slowly but surely the jigsaw comes to its completion.

Lovely to see how HM has reaffirmed her vow to serve all of her life and she signed the statement "your servant".

At the end of the day what the individuals think about Camilla becoming Queen Consort means nothing in the grand scheme of things.

I hope HM has a quiet and reflective day at Sandringham, easy to see why she chose this as the place to be today.

middlemarch - go ahead and brighten up my Sunday! As a Scot I get really cheesed off with Queen Elizabeth II. In Scotland she is Queen Elizabeth I as we were not chained when the other one was around. Frankly though I couldn't give a flying fig for any of them. "In my land a foreigner rules"

I've never listened to it either, nor do I ever intend to. It may be cringe worthy, but I suspect most conversations of that sort are.
It's private and should have stayed that way. I blame the media. ;)
I've no doubt Charles and Camilla love each other deeply...and should have been together from day one.
