You've got the touch Mamya ;)
A very big problem is that Camilla was (and presumably still is) a Roman Catholic. They are supposed to raise their children in that faith and that is an impossibility for a British Monarch - who is also head of the Church of England.
Just think of the problems with Charles 1, James and 'Bonnie Prince Charlie' - to the extent that the notably protestant William of Orange (married to Mary) was invited to invade and welcomed. If you throw that into the mix, the match was, at that time, impossible. I remember lots of column inches on the subject.
Grrr^^^ It was a very big problem...
She's an Anglican I believe.

// Both children were raised in their father's Roman Catholic faith, particularly during the lifetime of their paternal grandmother Ann Parker Bowles; however, Camilla remained an Anglican and did not convert to Roman Catholicism. \\
Correct LB, Camilla is not a Catholic.
Well, thanks for that, Ladybirder. I was very definitely led to believe that she was R.C. - sorry if I am promulgating misinformation, but it is genuinely what I gleaned. Apologies all.
No worries Jourdain.
Foxlee, Camilla had ‘history’ and was deemed unsuitable.
And now she's 'Snow White' and will one day be Queen - bring on the sick bowl!
How long do Camilla's critics intend to continue to hate her? Time to grow up and move on. I'm delighted the queen has spoken out and made her wishes clear. A wise lady and a very wise action.
What a reward for someone who was instrumental in breaking up a marriage - who allegedly said when confronted by Diana 'you've got your boys and the whole country loves you, what more do you want?' I don't need to grow up to feel disgust for that woman.
Good news, the glass slipper fits.
Well, who knows - Charlie boy may pop his clogs before his mum then the whole debate will be "oot the windae" as we say in my part of the country.
Foxlee, it isn't a reward. It's clarification. Like it or lump it she is his wife.
I will never call Camilla Queen. I wonder why HM can't see the country want Will and Kate?
He was forced to marry someone he didn't want to marry, didn't love, whilst loving someone else. How would you feel if that happened to you FL2? Poor Charles I say and good to see him obviously so very very happy now.
Stableford I'm sure she will be gutted to hear that!

HM wants them to have more time with their young family and even more so because Charles is next in line.
Stableford, who is 'the country'? You? I don't want William and Kate to deprive Charles of his birth right - and I doubt they do either.

The last thing we need is "woke" King Charles, with his whining and handwringing about his green agenda, and his political interference or his cheating mistress becoming the Queen. Whilst Her Majesty's life has been a blameless and shining example to the Country, Chaz and Cam will never be able to fill her shoes. The honourable thing would be to quietly remove themselves and let William ascend the throne. Would have thought Camillla had done enough "consorting" with Charles for one lifetime.
Stableford, the "country" (who I assume have made you their spokesman) doesn't always get what it wants.
