I don't know the full facts but the only explanation that I can come up with was that she was so drunk that she didn't realise that she had been raped, until she awakened the following morning.
Any other suggestions?

As it happens no but I've walked through it many times and probably done at least 20 overnight long haul flights. The entire flight is not asleep. The picture of the cabin is clearly shown anyway on the link so personal experience not necessary.

I thought you were 'taking your leave'?//
I am from your argumentative posts/ //
If you are too sensitive to understand the difference between being challenged for your view, and 'looking for an argument', then maybe you should post your contentious views elsewhere.
If an opinion is worth having, it's worth being challenged - if you want to opt out, that's your choice, don't stop here trying to play the victim on my account.

The entire flight can be awake playing rugby in the aisles, that's not the point.
The point is, a rapist can make his victim still and silent through brute force and terror.
My concern is that the majority on here are falling over themselves to excuse what may have been a rape on the basis of how many scenarios they can dream up, where the woman is responsible for what may have happened to her.

roadman - // screaming and scenes of violence and struggle isn't always the case sometimes it is sheer fear and paralysis whilst potentially being threatened / overpowered //
Direct experience of talking with rape victims confirms that the second is more often the case.
But let's let the rest of the contributors turn themselves inside out in an effort to find ways in which this woman can only be the architect of her own misfortune, and basically got what she deserved, and is now trying to wriggle out of it, they have no idea how come she didn't wriggle out of it while it was happening.

Sqad - // I just wanted to know of alternative scenarios and I seem to have received them but unfortunately with some degree of acrimony. //
My 'acrimony' such as it is, is reserved entirely for the slew of people who queue up to trumpet any scenario that means the woman is at fault, and none whatsoever that supports her on the basis that she is unlikely to be making up a charge of rape.
Oh, hang on, that's Scenario Number One, what was I thinking of!
To be clear, I know that women do make up charges or rape for reasons of their own.
But i find it seriously disturbing that our cultural attitudes, as evidenced on here, are that this is the default scenario, a woman trying to deny consensual sex, rather than one who has actually been violated.
If it comes to trial, the man must be praying he has a jury with the mindset of the majority on here - he will walk it, no matter what evidence is presented, because minds are already made up.
