Should the rest of the world put boots on the ground now?

Someone has to bump this idiot Putin off ...... Swiftly,

I don't see Putin falling at all. He's launched a blitzkrieg on a neighbour that is going as well as the early days of WW2 went for Germany. Hitler was defeated by war chiefly on the ground in the countries he invaded; Putin will have learnt from that to fight on one front at a time. I wouldn't be amazed if this is over in a week, bar local resistance, while western countries express outrage and send in arms that can in due course be captured by the victors.

Well you’re entitled to your opinion but for now things are not going wholly to plan for Putin.
Not sure what you mean by Hitler being defeated in the countries he invaded?!
The Soviet Union and the entry of the US overwhelmed him in the end after he crushed everyone else.
Russia is fighting on several fronts in Ukraine at the moment.
One big factor which will thwart Putin will be simply the fact that in this day and age you cannot hide your dirty deeds so well.
Another factor is that this is plainly a war between good and evil. Most wars aren’t that clear cut. So he has the certainty of his opponents, steeled by that knowledge, in that regard against him

WW2 was pretty much good v evil, rather more so than the current war (which so far doesn't seem to involve genocide).
I should certainly have mentioned the USA, which was attacked by Japan rather than Germany, but the Germans were defeated in the USSR, and in western Europe by the combined armies of the west (including the worldwide British empire) backed up by resistance movements. Putin is not going to face combined armies from anywhere as long as Nato decides to sit it out. The only enemy at the moment is Ukraine, and my assessment is that Ukraine is losing.
I'll be happy to be proved wrong.

I doubt Putin’s endgame is to subjugate Ukraine permanently. It didn’t work last time.
He will keep the two self-proclaimed rebel republics of Donetsk and Luhansk. This will help with a supply link to Sebastopol. The airport at Mariupol and access via the Sea of Azov to Crimea.
The rest of the country will be returned but only after Russia get assurances that they will not join NATO.

//Yes I am asking you but you will not answer.//
I see, denigrate me before I have chance. I know your sort.
Well, if you really cant see it this is why: By placing troops in the NATO countries near but not on the border it sends a message that we are willing to defend them. Its pretty straight forward.

"Look at Iraq... over in days"
2003 Iraq War took five and a half weeks until 'Mission Accomplished', and the repercussions and ramifications are still ongoing.
1990 Gulf War was four and a half months.
Hopefully this war in Ukraine will end quickly, as the longer it persists the greater danger of it spreading elsewhere.
