It's hardly a lie. At most it's wrong -- but even that is a matter of definition. Despite the impression that this site gives, about half of the UK agrees with the statement "a transgender woman is a woman" -- and, perhaps relevantly for the question, this seems to be an opinion more held by women than by men! Implicit in that post is how you define "women", which is itself subjective. I am not saying your definition is wrong, but it's not definitive. "Trans women are women" is therefore axiomatic.
