I Don't Even Know Where To Start With This!
The most bizarre banner I think I've ever seen
"Transgender father-of-two, 47, awaiting gender reassignment surgery is sent to male prison after being exposed as predatory paedophile who targeted girls as young as six and took upskirt photo of seven-year-old"

It's quite clear this person is a man. Will the achingly right on AB, like Jim and SP (and the Ab Editor) refer to him, and it's clearly a him, as him, or will they get so wrapped up in ignoring the obvious they'll refer to him as her?

* transgender
* father-of-two
* 47
* awaiting gender reassignment surgery
* sent to male prison
* exposed as predatory paedophile
* targeted girls as young as six
* took upskirt photo of seven-year-old
For me, "transgender" is not the issue ... I'd feel the same way if that said "straight", "gay" or whatever.

//She still does not recognised her guilt//
//Sentencing Judge John Edwards told Aitken: 'I bear in mind the difficulties you may encounter in a custodial environment but this offending was sustained, predatory and very distressing for these girls//
Does anyone have any more excuses for a person who preys on vulnerable people?
Certainly hope not!

All I will say is that this ‘person’ was born male, decided they wanted to become female and started the surgery process, but either way they have abused children along the way, so whether they now have a set of breasts and long hair(which they do btw) or not good luck being locked up in a male prison once they find out what they’re locked up for!
What a creature! Thanks goodness he's going to a men's prison!
Atheist, //Does it really matter what other people expect you to use as a term of address to other human beings//
Yes, it does matter. There is a demand on society to indulge this ridiculous fantasy and that not only undermines the status of real women, it results in the rest of society being expected to perpetrate lies. Lies might suit you but they don’t suit me. That newspaper report is referring to that creature as 'She' and I guarantee that any other report carried by any other main stream media source will do the same. They are lying because they are expected to lie. They know that creature is a 'he'. We all know that creature is a 'he' but nevertheless they - and you - will refer to him as 'her' or 'she' because that is what is expected. You can't honestly tell me that you refer to that monster as 'she' because you respect it, can you? Such is the abject stupidity in all of this that not only are mothers being referred to as 'people who give birth', and real women as 'people who menstruate' or 'people who have cervixes', NHS staff are now asking men arriving for scans if they are pregnant!

//You're muddling up the issue…//
I’m muddling up nothing. You asked whether it matters what other people expect you to use as a term of address to other human beings. I explained why it does. The main issue is that people who use the correct pronouns are being vilified and cast as bigots for simply refusing to indulge in lies and deceit. The person in the linked article is not a woman. He is a man. Yet the article gives all the impressions that it is a woman who is involved. It is a dangerous contention and deceitful, particularly in circumstances where sexual offences are concerned. Using inappropriate (or, more correctly, “wrong”) pronouns adds to that deceit and newspapers in particular should not be party to it. Certainly nobody else should be expected to indulge in it.
