In the circumstances his detractors will milk their pound of flesh because of his pathetic and narcissistic attempts to stay in power when all around him told him it was time to leave.
He deserves every criticism. In spades.

For a lot of Tories, and most of everybody else, it's completely unacceptable that the man who's been forced to resign against his will by his own party, because he's unfit for office, is planning to stay in that office, that's he's unfit for, for months more. Every further day that he's in that role does more damage to our country.

Because the reason he's going is that he's not fit for office. He's a liar. His morals and ethics are not up to the job. He's in it for himself more than the country or even his party. Give him a few more months and who knows what will happen? If you want what's best for the country, we need a safer pair of hands on the tiller. Somebody with a lot of gravitas who has no interest in running for the leader. The wild days of recent times have to be over, not continuing for months more, which they will if Boris remains. The press is not going to settle down and go quiet. More and more stuff will be unearthed. It needs to stop.
