Extraordinary that he now attacks Sunak for being 'a high tax chancellor' and blames the treasury for fiscal incompetence. One can only wonder why he didn't express these views when he had some say in government and wonder why Boris didn't heed what his close mate thought.

Yet another reason why absolutely nobody from the Johnson cabinet can stand for leadership, they’ve all got the Johnson kite mark, they’re tarnished. The leader must come from one of the 148 who went against Johnson in the VONC and the cabinet must be made up from them too.

JRM lives in a space-time bubble centred 250 years ago, so he's probably only just escaped it for long enough to have even heard of Rishi Sunak ...

I think Mr Rees-Mogg's carefully cultivated and maintained 'Minister for 1872' image hides a razor-sharp mind and a political antennae with few equals.

He has been, and will continue to be, careful to skate just above the maelstrom going on underneath him, and he will be poised to wait for the dust to settle, using the time to assess which the winning person or persons are or will be, and he will alight alongside them smiling elegantly, and ready to offer his considerable skill and experience to assist.
I've obviously been looking at the wrong man.

I've been focussing on the minister for himself and his profits.

Maybe have my antennae attended to.
Ellipsis 19 28,,, Spot on.
if there's one thing these MPs will never blame, it's themselves.
I don't think JRM has been or ever will be a serious player.

Didn't JRM say he wouldn't serve under another PM? Doubt he'd ever get the chance anyway.

He's not found many Brexit benefits yet, I believe.
andy hughes at 19,32 is spot on, i.m.o..
Jqcob R-M, "Have we finished financing the Boer War yet?"
Jacob DID
but didnt tell....

he moved his family's trust fund in Oireland south of the border
JRM is now jockeying for a bit part in the next Government.
I hope Sunak is consigned to history and never sees high office again. But moggy is drawing a line in the sand, that he will never serve under Sunak. I assume Sunak hates JRM’s guts too.

All just posturing nonsense.
the trouble with the VONCs is they have blood on their hands
( and aye, he who wields the knife never wears the croon, he's dooooomed !) Michael Heseltine - NOT shakey...

so it looks like again - mrs mopp the tea lady and larry the cat

Apart from being able to change 'funny numbers' on road signs at the Dartford Tunnel. Makes me ashamed to have voted remain that sort of thing.
Collective ministerial responsibility.

Very true and, like johnson's buffoon image, very dangerous.
